Reviews of Aldingbrooke
"Fine if you want to pay over $2000 to share a shared garage with a neighbor who does not take their garbage out, leaves rotten food on the floor, pizza boxes and fast food bags attracting all types of vermin! God forbid my kid goes out there and there is raccoon or mice... I was told as long as it's in bags it's fine. Can you imagine what that smells like in the summertime? Hopefully, I can attach photos of this mess. Trash is allowed to blow in your yard and in the woods with me having to make request to have someone come clean the garbage. AND the tenants they allow to come here are trifling and don't feel they should keep the.property clean. Further you pay 2200 which doesn't include trash collection or water (the apartment does not control these rate changes) ,cheap paint and patch up work around the apartment, cracks in the foundation, uneven pavements, the carpet is cheap and falling apart, you don't have stainless steel appliances, you cannot use your own washer/dryer, you have to use their low efficiency equipment that requires you start the dryer multiple times. When I moved in my neighbors had her own refrigerator, washer and dryer and stove, when I asked, I was told it wasn't allowed. The back gate is open or broken 85%of the time so if you have a restraining order against someone, they can get you.. Check other options in the area. In conclusion the office staff tries to help as much as.possible and are VERY responsive (Sophia, Jeff, Jennifer) but this is not their issue this is a Beztak issue! I have had 2 rent increases but nothing has evolved in the space."
"I want to offer a thoroughly balanced review, given all the reviews I've read so far while comparing them to our experience. My wife and I have been in a 1br 1bath apartment with our little one for almost 3 years. Our apartment feels relatively spacious given the layout. There are better apartment styles with much more storage space at much higher rates, but we've been able to manage with a few adjustments. However, most of our furniture was able to fit in relatively well. In terms of amenities, it's nice to have the pool, tennis+pickleball courts (which I never use), and a small park for kids. Our grounds are also kept very well maintained. Plus, the complex is relatively quiet with kind neighbors/rentors. I love walking through the complex to get exercise. There's also restaurants, a community center, a sports park, a drug store and hospital within walking distance. The public library is also about a mile and a half away. Unfortunately, the private gate that renters are supposed to have exclusive access consistently does not work at all. Sometimes, the more accessible gate with an attendant is left wide open, or they'll let you through without any questions, which became concerning at one point. Pricewise, the rates have gone up depending on the season of your contract and competitive market rates. I understand this as logical, but we've had a $200 increase over a 2 year period, which could be a stretch for many over a 12-month period. They've also been making it more difficult to reach the stringent standards to qualify for the apartments due to the decisions made by Beztak's upper management while also penalizing current renters more if they decide to break their lease early. Most of our appliances work well, and maintenance typically has addressed minor issues such as with the washing machine, microwave, and light fixture. We have had relatively little trouble with maintenance, although there can be long waiting periods between the maintenance request and them showing up at the door. This is due to a law that requires them to fulfill requests in the order that they were received unless it is an emergency. Specific complaints I have are with the number of geese in the area blocking the roads, which I'm pretty sure there's nothing that can be done about it. There are also a lot of trash bags left out on the grass the day before garbage trucks pick it up. Our trash can was even stolen in front of our apartment despite it being labeled. This is just plain unsustainable. As far as the staff go, I deeply appreciate the leasing consultants Sylvia and Jeff as they've provided so much honest advice on navigating this process. Sylvia showed us the apartment we chose, and I thoroughly enjoy having conversations whenever I can with her. Jeff has constantly spent time trying to figure out ways to address any issues that come up regarding housing decisions. They are truly awesome. In addition, the lady who manages the maintenance requests (please forgive me for not knowing her name) is more than reasonable in working with you while explaining the limitations of what's possible in a given time frame. Also, we got into a financial pickle one time where we thought we paid rent on time and the apartment's financial consultant (forgive me for forgetting his name) worked with me to figure out the root cause of the issue so I could fully understand how to address the problem. All in all, I probably wouldn't mind staying here a few more years if our income increased so we could get a larger apartment and could rely on upper management to lessen the barriers for entering and exiting the contracts."
"When I first moved to Aldingbrooke about 5 years ago the community and staff was beautiful. After living in my unit I informed maintenance of the water leak from the upper unit as well as the windows but to no avail. Neither the windows or the leak from upstairs were repaired. I paid my rent flawlessly. Never had any complaints, Im a very quiet and respectful neighbor. After I went to the front office to see if I could downsize to a 1 bedroom because A) My lease was up and B) The rent climb from $1600 -$2100...they told me the owners were not honoring any transfers because it was too expensive. I didn't understand the logic but ok. The staff is very unwelcoming and I try to ask as less questions as possible. Hopefully they return my security deposit because I left the place spotless....except for the mold that had been growing from the walls...please see pics Ps...the window silll has been like that since the day I moved in 5 yrs ago"
"Buyer beware. I had to move out of state for a job with 5 months left on my lease. To cancel, I had to give 60 days notice, effectively leaving an empty apartment, AND pay a 2 month penalty. When I called and asked about an accommodation, all I got from the property manager was "you signed the contract." It felt like, "gotcha! If you don't like it, call the corporate office, but they'll never reduce the fee for anyone." All I could do was leave a message and still waiting for anyone to respond from there. Regarding actually living there, I think I had 4 or 5 people come out to fix my HVAC fan which wasn't working. Every one of them said it was fixed until I was actually there when the repair was happening. That time they tried a few things and left and said they needed to run it by the manager or supervisor or something. Also, note the picture. That is the inside of my window. I had an order in for weeks and it hadn't been addressed. It hadn't been addressed by the time I left. Update 3/8 Alingbrooke replied to this review asking for me to contact the office. I did and the response was that since I acknowledged the fee at the time of my cancelation the review was unfair. Noted. I also have now left 3 voicemails with the corporate office and have heard nothing back."
"**DO NOT try to move in if you have medium/big furniture** (Grand Ranch Second Floor - 2000 square feet) We just recently moved into this apartment complex and have already had such a bad experience. We are currently renting the Grand Ranch second floor, which is 2000 square feet apartment. We had such a terrible move-in experience as when you entered in the door, the stairs were extremely steep and narrow, and there was a 90 degree turn almost immediately when walking in. (As seen in the picture down below). This made it almost impossible to move in any of our medium/big furniture (even a queen size matress or any of our vanity dressers). Our moving company had told us that they had to charge us extra due to the staircase itself. Our small piano couldn't even fit in due to the narrow staircase that it now sits at the foot of the walkway as the moving company told us it could not be done. This extreme 90 degree angle is also present in the hallway to the master bedroom, so none of the big items could be carried there and our bigger belongings now have to stay in the living room. We definitely would not have even thought about renting a second story room if they had shown us any pictures of the apartment space itself. We absolutely assumed that since it was one of their bigger floor plans, that most of our belongings would fit. Since it didn't, most of the big furniture had to be thrown out by our moving company as the office had told us there wasn't even a dumpster nearby they could provide us. They had shown us a layout, but that is all they provided. Their model house that was shown to us wasn't even a second floor Grand Ranch, so we assumed it would be similar, but still an okay place to live. They gave us the key the night before, so we planned to move-in the next morning. After bringing this up our issues to the leasing office and talking to the manager, they had told us that there was nothing they could do about the situation and that it was our fault for not pushing our move-in date to later. They had mentioned that they wouldn't even take our case to the higher ups. They also suggested us to "get creative" for moving in and that it wasn't their fault. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with this experience even after talking with the manager."
