"Edit: six months have passed and neither myself nor my former roommate have received our deposits back. I am also being threatened with collections for unknown charges that could easily be paid off using the now-missing deposit. I want this nightmare to be over, Beware Original post: Lived here for a little over a year. Management does not care. Management came into my apartment without any notice, moved my things around to install some cable, didn’t put it back, and then left the door unlocked while I was at work. The hallway air is stagnant and foul, the building isn’t kept up or updated (my furnace/ac was from the 80’s). Avoid at all costs, it’s not worth it. (The apartment is owned by Simtob Management and investment LLC and is currently being sued by the city of Lansing, take that how you will). The neighborhood is also loud and cops get called to the complex relatively often"
"Lived here in 2020 under different management and it was great. However, returned in 2022 and new management had just taken over and it was terrible. No hot water for weeks, terrible communication, Wi-Fi problem, etc. We have been moved out for about 3 months now and have not gotten our security deposit back. Called multiple times, told "they are behind", called again today and was told the person I was talking to before is no longer there and to try the complex again later.... very frustrating."
"Absolutely horrible management. They have left us with no hot water for days. No answer when you try to call the landlord. Maintenance does not come on time. New management increased the rent and added utilities to our bill for no reason. They charge us for hot water now and cannot even fix the hot water to be consistent and hot. FIND OTHER HOUSING THIS IS NOT IT."
"I’m currently a resident just waiting for my lease to expire so I can leave. Most positive reviews come from the previous ownership who were terrific. The current ownership has consistently failed to provide us with basic necessities. The internet has vanished multiple times and they always blame spectrum even though I don’t believe spectrum is at fault. The hot water has gone out 3 or 4 times now. No upgrades they’ve promised have come to fruition. Terrible experience. I highly recommend anywhere else."
"DON’T LIVE HERE. I’ve lived here for the last 16ish months - the first 15 were when the place was Mansard House, and it was excellent! John the maintenance guy was superb, the landlords were friendly and accessible, and all was well (and super affordable). Now this new Kendall Off Main landlord has gone and ruined it - extended periods with no hot water in some parts of the complex, they downgraded our internet speed until it was unusable without telling us AND expected us to keep paying the same for it until enough residents complained that they backtracked, they didn’t plow the parking lot for way too long when we had almost two feet of snow, so it was nearly impossible to park in the lot… the list goes on. I pay 880 for 2B2B rent from my lease with Mansard - now they’re trying to charge 1300 dollars for new leases in a building they can’t figure out how to maintain? Please. I was set on renewing my lease here a month ago - not anymore."
