Reviews of Country Ridge Apartments
"They have raised the rent $200 in the last 2 years. Air is not included and they keep giving the new tenants the storage units. The snow plowers come at the end of the day and don't even do the parking spots that are open. Air seeps through the windows and doors. They don't respond to emails very well at all."
"Property manager never answers phone. Lawn company leaves grass clippings on your side patio area. Snow removal does not plow parking spots. Was told rent would go up $25-50 a year at signing, rent is going up $200 this year. They are liars. Not Kalamazoo promise and while mattawan is okay… it’s not great and the drive as far as kzoo or portage. We were promised a walk out and $800/mo when we first talked and filed out application. Manager hiked it up $50 and did not give us what was promised (no walk out). Again liars. Green slime on wood—looks like it should have been power washed a decade ago. While coyotes roam in backyard— don’t take small dogs or children out at night. Daycare screaming children use the yard to walk to the park. Farmers market overflow parking in the summer tends to be problematic when super busy because they want to park near the pavilion in our complex. Parents take up the end of the driveway and block the mailboxes when kids come/go to school on the busses. Electric bill is always over $120 a month. No cellular signal on metro in this part of town. Loud sirens all day (located behind a fire station)."
"Country Ridge features some great, comfortable and stylish apartments. My unit has linoleum flooring, nice carpet in the bedrooms, with washer, dryer and even a dish washer. Location is very quiet so you don't have to worry about noise pollution at all. Neighbors are fine too, we're friendly, but also give space and privacy. The only negative I have is MTH who owns the location. Maintenance requests take forever to get approved and if you need the landlord to approve something or hear back, she has taken 24-36 hours during the week to respond to me. Rent is always rising too, so eventually the fair price I pay may not be an option next time we re-sign."
"It used to be such a friendly and peaceful apartment community. A little over a year ago a large apartment management company bought it. They raised the rent twice e so far. They don't do background checks on new tenants and its becoming more like a trailer park. So many residents have lived here for well over 10 years. All they care about is having all apartments full and collecting the rent. Noise, littering, harassment is a daily occurrence, and they just don't care."
"Maybe if a new tenant you’re getting what you’re signing a lease for because it’s a newly redone unit. Otherwise be prepared for lengthy maintenance requests that are marked “completed” with no work done whatsoever. We have been in a unit for 15 years prior to new ownership, raised our rent over 30% (arbitrarily $100 more than our neighbors), no upgrades or renovations that were promised have even come close to being scheduled. Moldy hallway carpet will be “cleaned” with mold/moisture/filth/SMELL readily apparent after the fact. All maintenance requests however basic are “not able to be done until all other upgrades are completed”. So our leaky fridge, promised new washer and dryer, and blinds/carpets, etc can’t be completed because of what??? They essentially said “we don’t want to fix X in case our hired contractors potentially break issue Y in the process.” So you’re worried about window blinds how should I feel about our personal possessions??? Be aware of what you’re looking into. Did I mention we have neighbors using our bathroom to shower because their unit has filled with bees/yellow jackets to the point they can’t even use their bathroom they pay rent for (with no solution from management). I will edit this review based on maintenance responses/performance. I’d love to love where I live, but holy hell."
