Lake Pines Apartments

"Been here almost five years living with my daughter as a full custody parent. This area is wonderful. Unless you are a Karen or Chad and find something to complain about all the time, which you’ll never be happy in life if that’s the case… I won’t complain about them coming and fixing stuff for free, I have had my own home and I’ll tell you, MAINTENANCE IS EXPENSIVE. The fact that you don’t have to pay for maintenance here is very nice. I’m not sure how anyone can complain about that. I also won’t complain about them doing inspections cause I’d rather know me and my daughter are living in a safe area and not near a bunch of people who can take care of there own home environment. They also give you at-least 24 hours to come in and do repairs or inspections… It’s good place and good price."

"Very bad management. The office ladies are rude to their tenants, they give excuses instead of resolutions, and the written communications are riddled with condescension and typos and are void of professionalism. The tenants have no way of communication issues to the owners or anyone professional with power to correct things. The pool has had a leak for 7 years, it's closed a month earlier than required by weather, the lawn care company drive through the car lot with the zero-turn blades engaged, and the railings are loose on the front steps of numerous buildings. There are elderly people living at Lake Pines, but the rails are loose- no management resolution, just rudeness. A caution for anyone prospective tenants: the management at Lake Pines will inspect private pay tenants using policies meant only for HUD and subsidy tenants. This means that they will invade your privacy even if you're not in a government program. You can not have a welcome mat, and your bike has to be outside even though there have been reports of theft. New office management would fix a few of these issue."

"Trashy management, too expensive for barely any quality of living space also would not recommend if you are a bachelor. They'll put you in a two bedroom so they can charge you more"

"Great "affordable" housing in the area that is safe and nice! I moved to Saint Joseph for work in 2018 and live down the street from these apartments. They are really discrete, having a small sign on the road but they are back nearly a quarter mile on the lake. I live in a little more upscale condo association but would have loved to consider living in these apartments after having a negative experience with a private landlord in the area."

"I lived here for 4 years and was well taken care of. Denise runs the place and does a great job. Buildings and grounds are well kept. It's quiet and my neighbors were friendly and polite. Maintenance guys were friendly and polite. Maintenance issues were taken care of that day or next day. The only thing I have an issue with is the fitness center. It's needs some TLC. Fortunately South Shore Health and Racquet Club is only a half mile away."
