"Well I should have looked at the reviews here before I booked. Sadly I did not. Rented a home thinking it came with a hot tub only to find out later that on the original page at the bottom it had listed hot tub only accessible 4 days out of the month. Be warned they will not be helpful and you will have to jump over many hoops to still not have an answer. Better to stick to Vrbo or AirBnB."
"When I rented a property from vacasa I specifically requested the pool to be open and functional. I got written confirmation from Vacasa agents that the pool would be open and heated at no additional cost. I went ahead and made the reservation. When I checked in the pool was closed, I had a hard time contacting them and they told me they would not solve that. Ruined my vacation week and my family's stay in Michigan because of this. Yes the only reason we got the house was because of the pool. They told us it was still cold and I said "I don't care, when you confirm it will be open make sure it's actually open" They just got mad and did not resolve anything. Don't believe any confirmation from them Unless they show up with you to the property and if something you asked for Is not there/working, cancel and get refunded. Their policy should get voided because of scamming."
"Due to COVID we were looking for a lakefront cottage for a small group for a weekend...We rented Jacobia in Coloma and WOW! The views were everything! Outdoor firepit easy access to private beach with minimal steps. Deck space outstanding and the lake views from the couch were are hard to beat! Great service easy check in, can't wait to go back this winter!"
"We rented a house for the beginning of September. Upon arrival, the house looked ok. But after spending some more time there, I realized quickly how dirty the house was. They claimed that they were sanitizing high touch surface areas due to covid but it was clear that light switches had never been cleaned. I spent my first hour and a half in this house cleaning. Wiping down cabinets that had food splattered on them, light switches, door handles, vacuuming hair that was all over the bathrooms, hallways etc. and that does not include the hour the next morning my husband spent vacuuming the first floor and basement and then swiffering. My son is a crawler and it was evident how dirty the floors were based on his clothing after 1 hour of being there. They also charge a $350 cleaning fee which is laughable. They DID have a very nice lady come and clean on day 3 and I felt much more comfortable after that. The home itself and the outdoor area was lovely. Unfortunately, we will not be renting from Yellowbird Vacations again because of their lack of communication and preparedness of the house for our arrival. I have tried getting a hold of them numerous times to give them a chance to rectify before posting this review."
"Beware of these owners of the listing named “La Playa Grande”. They cancelled our rental for Labor Day three weeks prior to our dates without any explanation but blamed it on the “pandemic”. They even took half of the payment amount a month ahead of time including $1000 cleaning fee! Yellow bird issued a basic, standard email apology but again, did not provide an explanation and wouldn’t even give us a call back which was extremely unprofessional. Instead, they just sent us a standard email response despite us requesting a call several times. Very disappointed with our experience. Reply to yellowbird’s comment: Yellow Bird Vacations thank you for your reply. I am a healthcare worker so I know first hand the seriousness of the pandemic. However, I do not see a scenario where a home or guest has been deemed unsafe because of the pandemic THREE weeks ahead of the scheduled date. If you would like to explain such a scenario to us, we are STILL waiting for a phone call from you guys to do so. Secondly, you offered us a property that is not even close in comparison to the one we had reserved which will not work for our family so we said no thank you to that property. However, if you would like to talk about ethical business practice, suggesting that you offered us a comparable property is very unethical. Thank you for clarifying about the $1000 cleaning fee. I will edit my review accordingly. And I appreciate the value and respect you have for your homeowner. I know you guys have mostly five star reviews which is why I am absolutely astounded by the fact that you can take the time to reply to my review online but cannot show enough respect for us and our situation to give a simple phone call."
