Reviews of 43 North Apartments
"Isaac is the best! Professional, knowledgeable and goes above and beyond your typical manager. He is what all leasing sales professionals should be. Thank you Isaac for the great tours!"
"Probably one of the worst places rent reasons being: 1.) Rent is overpriced especially when the apartments and appliances are outdated. 2.) management is bad at project management, the recent snow storm the had the third party contractors pile the snow in between 17515 so you could not get to your parking spots. This is a definitely a safety risk especially if someone needed to leave for a medical emergency. 3.) I had my son two days ago and we closed out the apartment the day we went into labor. I got a phone call from Isaac (which knew we were going in very soon) hounding about the breaking the lease fee while we’re still in the hospital. (Don’t worry family isn’t important I got it paid lol) 4.) if their property damages your vehicle they will not pay for it lol it’s ironic, because if you have a something wrong they would charge you for it. In the end I don’t recommend this place you’re literally paying for a pool and living 5 minutes from the beach and management does not care about you."
"We are "seniors" and never having to navigate a 52? page apartment lease agreement before, it was somewhat overwhelming. Isaac M. to the rescue! He worked with us through several issues due to house sale closing date changes, etc. and Isaac was professional, kind and patient. The maintenance team was also prompt in attending to some minor issues at move-in date. During the recent snow storm(s), the neighbors have been so friendly and compassionate by helping deal with the snow removal around vehicles, offering to help with unloading trash from the car into the dumpster, etc. Very much appreciated. Overall our first experience with apartment living has been good and we are thankful for Isaac and Cindy and many others who have been so kind. Thank you to all."
"Do not live here. In their own words 43 North "does not have a legal obligation to ensure that your client's apartment is silent, or even "quiet." Decent apartment if the management cared about their tenants and not just their money. I really liked my apartment here compared to anything I've lived in before. The price I pay is good compared to Grand Haven, Holland, and Grand Rapids. The appliances are standard, nothing new, but all do the job. The apartment is spacious and the complex is nice. I've had maintenance done once and it was quick and the person was nice. I do think the people in the leasing office want to help you, especially Issac. The complex is very pet friendly so there are a lot of dogs and my experience with most of them has been good. That's where it leads to the bad. About 3 months ago, neighbors moved in above me with two medium size dogs that bark and howl all the time. I waited about a month before going to the leasing office to give them time to settle in and see if anything improved. After that time I went to the office and reported the barking and sent them clips of the dogs barking over the last month. Every few days to a week over the last 1.5-2 months I have been in the office updating them on the ever worsening situation. It literally sounds like I am living below a kennel from 6:30am-6pm every day Monday-Sunday. Over the time reporting the incidents, they have been emailed, called, and been shown the audio and the dog owners have done nothing to improve the situation. Here's the problem, Isaac in the office has been helpful the whole time but the process he has to follow, because no one in the office actually has the power to do anything, is so slow neighbors have been living next to a kennel for months. In order for this place to do anything to help you in these situations you have to spend months to go to court. They will not help you during the process, they will not reimburse you. You are a number on their financial checkbook to them and that is it. Take time reading their lease and realize they don’t legally have to enforce it if it’ll cost them money. Do not live here."
"I absolutely LOVE living here. I have lived all over the country in small and large cities (NYC, DC) and this is by far the best apartment I have lived in. It is expensive, but this area is expensive and I think they are in line, if not a little less for what you get in the apartment and other amenities. It is private and feels like you're living in townhomes vs. apartments. The landscaping is always beautifully maintained. It's quiet with the ponds and wildlife (yes, you'll see all manners of fowl, turtles and frogs) but still close to Downtown Grand Haven. The walking path on Lakeshore is also really convenient and nice to use. You're going to hear some noises in your apartment, for example I live over two garages so sometimes I hear them opening, but it's not obnoxious or loud. I have never heard any other noises within my apartment. I love all the new finishes, white cabinets, light countertops, great balcony space, washer/dryer in unit, and new appliances. I've only had three issues that required contacting maintenance and they came the same day and fixed it that day (garbage disposal, leaky pipe, and my AC unit). Everyone is really nice who works there and they actively put on events, schedule food trucks, and try to make this a community. There are a ton of dogs that live here (which I love! and own one) too. I had a great start of touring two apartments to signing a lease also. Some other reviews mentioned "hidden fees" but they aren't hidden, they are in the lease but will change month to month because of your usage. For example, water and sewer. It's not great to have to pay separate from your rent, but if you know about it and are conscious of your use it's not a big deal (my highest was $13 a month with guests staying over). Overall, I'd highly recommend if you're looking for a really nice apartment, attentive maintenance and management staff, and nice neighbors! (Pictures are from when moving in)."
