"In and out in 2.5 hours - including labs and and x-ray. Every single staff member was exceedingly kind. I'm very grateful for the care I received."
"Everyone here was amazing from security at the door to ER staff, to CT, and to everyone in between. I was blessed to have you all today. If I or anyone i know is in need of a hospital, McLaren Oakland is my choice and my recommendation."
"The nurses on the ER department need some lessons in manners. With that being said My husband was in the ER on several different days and after waiting several hours for a room (13+hours) for a bed signed household out AMA. Yesterday he was brought in via ambulance. When the afternoon nurses seen his name started talking smack. Like they couldn't be heard and exact words "why even waste our time" well need flash ladies he is not wasting your time I AM BECAUSE I AM THE ONE BRINGING HIM IN I AM THE ONE INSTANT ON HIS ADMISSION. How about you ladies try laying in that thin little bed for 13+ hours before you sit there and talk smack about patients. With that being said he was addicted yesterday did hey a room and the only nurse I'm not including in the rant is David Baum he's was wonderful and deserves another Daisy Award. The floor my husband is currently on is also amazing"
"Second time I have come to the ER for an emergency with my kids. Both experiences were 10/10. Yesterday we took my son in for a head injury. I ran in carrying him, bawling my eyes out. Security called and the nurses came running immediately. They took my son and took action immediately. Every single nurse was amazing from start to finish. They made sure I was okay as well. Alisha is the only nurses name I got but they were all spectacular. They kept me updated throughout the whole process and checked on us often. They definitely helped calm my anxiety through the whole thing. I appreciate you all and I hope you see this!"
"If I could give zero stars, I would. Very sad, considering I had pretty decent care on another ER visit there. But this-was deplorable. Sean Benner, DO did not listen to my complaint, which was pain in my neck. He kept his focus on possible diverticulitis, which I was not convinced of. I’ve had it before & my symptoms were not matching. I have a thyroid nodule & lymph node involvement in the neck area, which is causing me moderate to severe pain. He kept trying to rush me out of there with my prescriptions for diverticulitis. My white blood cell count was high, I had a fever for many days, but he just wanted to get me out of there. He actually told me the pain in my neck was caused by anxiety. I highly doubt he’d have said that to a male patient. I could tell he was aggravated when the RN tried discharging me & I asked to speak to the doctor again. He did not like me trying my best to advocate for myself. He begrudgingly ordered a neck CT, which showed the lymph node inflammation. But, that was all the “care” I was going to get from him. I have never felt so rushed before. He was not compassionate. The last time he left my room, he said he’d send his attending back to speak with me. The RN discharged me & I sat there-waiting for the attending doctor. I finally came to the nurses station to see if I was going to speak with the attending & Benner got up with an inconvenienced look on his face, said something to the attending doc, then told me the attending agreed with everything he said. Thanks so much. I will never go to McLaren again. PS-the ER was pretty quiet when I was leaving, so it wasn’t like these doctors were slammed with patients."
