"Pricing broken items higher than they currently cost brand new at the store doesn’t make any sense. Just go to Salvation Army"
"They have vases with the original 2.79 price tag on the bottom and the goodwill price tag on the side for 3.29. And they had stuff from the dollar tree marked for 2-5 dollars. This is getting ridiculous. Also, they keep selling broken items for way more than they should be. Why is a broken snow globe 10 dollars? You get this stuff for free and think yeah we deserve 10 dollars for a snowglobe that had the glass globe busted and still has sharp pieces of glass sticking out of it. You price stuff like your running out of items. Bffr."
"The store looks huge from the outside, but the left side of it is for taking in donations and storage. We were greeted immediately upon entering and I told us the 50% off color of the day. The store was nicely organized and quite clean. We did find two nice pieces at reasonable pricing that we had to have. :-)"
"Price signs on aisles are overruled by higher priced stickers on clothing items. WAY overpriced for donated items. I can find better prices on new. I still frequently stop now, but rarely buy. Especially since fitting rooms aren’t available. A hot mess."
"I have been an avid thrift shopper for as long as I can remember and I've shopped at Goodwills especially. That being said, over the last 3-6 months my experience at the BC Goodwills has greatly decreased. As so many other local guides have stated in their reviews, Goodwill is now completely overpriced. I find this disheartening and disappointing on several levels. You have to remember that the majority of the items have been donated to the store out of the goodness of people's hearts. That means with complete selflessness and goodwill -pun intended- they have taken things they bought and own and given them away with no benefit to themselves. The store then grossly overprices them for their own gains. These high prices also mean the people that must shop 2nd hand because they don't have the means to purchase them new still cannot afford (potential) necessities. For instance, a used no-brand boys winter coat was $30 at Goodwill. $30 is a lot of money to a lot of people. A child's winter coat is not a frivolous purchase, it is a necessity. Instead of reasonably pricing it so a child in the community can stay warm, Goodwill prices it to profit and benefit themselves. I will continue to shop at Goodwill but I will buy less and be much more conscientious of what I'm buyingand I will NEVER donate to the store. I would rather give my used items to someone in need, in my community, that will truly benefit and appreciate them. I think we all should think twice about donating to Goodwill and instead look for individuals or organizations in our community that we can help."
