"Let me first say...It's all about the kids!!! I don't know what I expected but this was not it. The train was real. We did ride across the real city of Mt. Clemens, where traffic has to stop and the gates do come down. It is a quick 45-minute ride that was slow and unamusing. In the end, the children were given approx. three pieces of candy and sent on their way. I will not be bringing my grandson back for the train ride. We may visit the museum and learn about the original transit system in Michigan."
"I love trains and I truly appreciate the hard work the staff and volunteers put in to make the trains accessible for visitors. We crossed a busy road on the way and back entertaining motorists with waves. Affordable. Nostalgic. May not be geared for youngsters but for those young at heart. Note: train ride and museum are not at the same site."
"For what it is, and how little they charge for it, it's a great experience. Antique diesel locomotive with antique cars, dating back as far as the 1920's. The whole experience is very informative and you learn a lot about the history of the train and the railroad. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend this attraction for both family outings or, in our case, a cute afternoon date."
"If you are or have a train enthusiast in your midst...this is a nice way to spend an hour or so. The volunteer staff are OBVIOUSLY very passionate and they are knowledgeable."
"It was a fun short little train ride (from the Joy Blvd Park). The kids loved it, lots of cute books and trinkets to purchase if you want as well. If you go to the front of the train after the ride is over you can ask the conductor for a quick tour like we did."
