"She may be a good attorney, I don't know about that, but I do know she is a horrible mediator and person. Just disgusting behavior towards me. She was great with my wife, they literally shared pictures and discussions about baking and our daughter and about how my wife and I first met. Lots of giggles and lolz. My ex-wife and I are still on good terms, we were even then during the divorce, and she was shocked when I told her how Colleen behaved with me. With me she was condescending, lecturing, and arguing with me about everything I said. She behaved more like my wife's attorney and nowhere near an impartial third party. She wasted (expensive) time talking about the terrible cookies that she made and an animal that had gotten into one of the other offices. This should have been a pretty easy and straight-forward mediation, maybe a couple of hours, discussing custody and splitting assets (of which there wasn't much, and it was just 50/50 split, real complicated stuff that). Instead she turned it into a 6 hour session of her arguing with every statement I made. For instance I had brought in some custody examples made by the state of Arizona, which were organized by age-appropriateness and had a list of pros and cons for each plan, to use as a starting point. When I presented them and was trying to show her what I would like for a custody arrangement she snapped "we're not in Arizona" and "I don't want to look at that". What a nasty person. Then there was the time when she was laughing and joking when she snatched the check out of my hands. Then she said it looked like I was going to cry and told my attorney that she couldn't tell if I was going to cry or not, all smiling, haha a really good joke Colleen. Far from appropriate behavior throughout the whole process. If I could give Colleen Ronayne zero stars I would. How can I give zero stars?!?! If you like your mediator to be completely on the side of the wife along with a heaping helping of lectures about how to raise your children then she's the one for you. Demand someone else, anyone else. If you do somehow get stuck with her, don't hesitate to walk out as soon as she starts questioning you about things that have nothing to do with dividing up assets and custody. She's not there to give parenting You can always get a different mediator. Don't make the mistake that I made and sit there and take the abuse. Also I would demand that the proceedings be recorded. Maybe that will keep her honest and impartial. Because when you file a complaint (and you will) it will be your word against hers, and the lawyers all stick together. And record the WHOLE time you're interacting with her, because as I mentioned before, even after the official mediation she was still behaving abhorrently. And give it a day before you sign the papers. Don't be in a rush. My lawyer indicated that mine wasn't the only complaint about her that they had had, and they no longer planned to use her for mediation. Take it from me, there has to be better than her, because they can't get any worse."
