"First of all Onekama is a very beautiful lake town rich in history and timeless beauty!! This park is located right in town on Portage Lake. It has a beach and swimming area, picnic tables with grills, (just bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid) nice playground for the kids, two boat ramps and lots of benches to just sit and reflect, read a book, watch the sunset, or whatever tickles your fancy! Portage Lake is very beautiful and has access to Lake Michigan! There are a lot of species of Lake fish, Birds and other waterfowl."
