"Customer service is a craft and for every few horrible experiences that a consumer has, there also comes along an exemplary one. I had one of the best customer service experiences over the past month as Mike and Mackinac Straits Kayaking were able to fully assist me in my role as 'kayak support' for a good friend that was going to participate in the 2022 Mackinac Island Swim on Sunday, August 14th. I was driving from Columbus, Ohio and didn't want to transport my kayak for 7 hours. There are no businesses on the island that simply rent kayaks. When I initially reached out to Mike in July and informed him of my dilemma, he offered to rent me a sit in kayak that he had at a campground in Mackinac City for a nominal fee. When I learned that I also had to pay a kayak transport fee for the ferry ride, Mike offered me the kayak at NO CHARGE! Who does that these days? The customer service end continues with Mike's routine follow up as I approached my drive and picking up the kayak as he would text or call to make sure everything worked our for our needs.
