Reviews of Mackinac Island Carriage Tours barns
"I would not recommend the Carriage tour to most people that visit Mackinaw Island. The tour guides were kind but the tour lacked exclusive historical information that couldn't be found without the tour. The first half of the tour was most of the downtown which is easily walkable. Then they dropped us off at a tourist trap with snacks and gift shops. Once we were at the tourist trap we had to wait in line again for the second part of the tour. We lost 30 minutes of valuable time on the island. The second part is the tour was mostly through the woods and was nothing special besides arch rock. We did not even get dropped off at our starting point. We had to walk 7 minutes down a steep hill to get back to downtown. I would recommend renting a bike and reading historical landmarks rather than taking a carriage ride."
"Horse carriage tour was our first thing to do on the Mackinac Island. We loved it."
"A must see for all travelers. All types of ways to see the island: bike, kayak, horse drawn carriage-splurge for the private tour. We did not stay over night on the island but will for the next visit. Purchase any combos you can to save money. Take one of the ferry times that include going under the bridge and sit on the left side for a view of the grand hotel."
"If you're on Mackinac Island, a horse drawn carriage tour is a must! The tour guides are very knowledgeable and friendly. You get to see several sights on the island, including the historic downtown, the national park, the butterfly observatory, and the gorgeous Arch Rock. I've been to the island three times and take the tour every time!"
