Eagle Craft & Hobby
About the Business
Eagle Craft & Hobby is a family-owned store located in the heart of Eagle River, Wisconsin. Owners Jim & Kathy Holperin, both Eagle River natives, have a long history of running businesses on Wall Street. Kathy initially opened Grandma’s Toy Box in 2008, a specialty toy store that saw great success and led to the opening of Eagle Craft & Hobby in 2014.
Eagle Craft & Hobby is located in the historic Eagle Theater building, next door to Grandma’s Toy Box. The store offers a wide variety of craft and hobby supplies, including a remote control department managed by son Chris Holperin. The store also houses "Bauer’s Rock Shop," continuing the family tradition of Eagle River retail.
The owners take pride in being part of Eagle River’s commercial district and invite visitors to stop by their two great stores when exploring downtown. Whether you're looking for toys, crafts, hobbies, or unique rock specimens, Eagle Craft & Hobby is the perfect destination for all your creative needs.

"I go here for all my Traxxas R/C supplies from now on. Chris is a great person to work with when it comes to finding the parts I need and helping keep my slash vxl up and running when I need help. Will for sure be spending money here as long as they stay how they are as humans and business owners."
"Nice place and nice staff. Picked up some hobby paints for a good price. They also have a nice selection of model kits. An enjoyable experience."
"What an AWESOME experience! This store has everything you could ever want or need for the hobbyist, or just to fight a rainy day. Models, puzzles, RC vehicles, rocks... The list is never ending. And the staff is beyond friendly and knowledgeable! Staff who will take an interest in what you need, or don't need, and just talk to you about whatever. For me, I couldn't believe the TRAXXAS selection of parts IN STOCK! I found some parts I needed and and started talking about the XMAXX. Seeing as we were on vacation, my wife suggested that I wait until Christmas. After Chris continued help me, looking up the parts, verifying I had the correct part numbers (kudos to him!), I thanked him for a great experience and we left. Chris was extremely knowledgeable and didn't mind taking the time to answer a few questions I had, and gave me some additional information about TRAXXAS I was aware of. To make a long story short, my wife was so impressed with the store and Chris, she decided to buy that XMAXX as an early Christmas present while we were still up there on vacation. They are my now go to place, every time I'm in that area. Way to guys! You've restored my faith in the hobby store system!"
"Went there for the first time ever to look at their Traxxas rc vehicles and the older gentleman was extremely polite and helpful. He even made a phone call so i could speak with someone who was very knowledgeable about Traxxas in general and let me know everything i needed to know in order to maximize my purchase. I was incredibly happy with my purchase and the information i was given today. Thanks again guys for being awesome! I will definitely be returning and recommending everyone to come to you for anything rc!"
"This is a very unique hobby store for a community the size of Eagle River. There are various types of rocks, fossils, model kits, paint by number sets, craft kits, sports cards, and toys, to mention a few. You can even buy old baseball card packs (circa 1988) which still includes the gum. Think about that for awhile."
