"In November of '23, we decided it was time for our 20 year old carpet to go. 20 years of life took its toll. We had no idea where to start. We called a couple places, but we weren’t feeling confident with any one place, at that point. We called Smith's Hardwood from a general google listing. They are on the east side of town, and we grew up there, so we called. Joe got back with us, came out to the house, and instantly recognized the potential our floors had, even with the condition they were in at that time. We were pleased with his overall knowledge and real enthusiasm for what could be. We felt that maybe we found someone who could help us. This was a big investment for us. Our baseboards and door casings were in bad shape, and he was willing and able to offer us a full array of options to do a one-time fix of everything. The price was fair for the amount of work needed, and we felt good about bringing them in. All the guys on the crew are fantastic, knowledgable and knew what they were doing. We had no problems with moving out for a week, so they could work; we had full confidence in the crew. The carpenter that completed all the finishing work was great. Good craftsmanship all around. All questions were addressed at the end of the job and we were treated with respect throughout. Joe even went above and beyond to take care of us in resolving some small things that came up at the end of the job. We were ignorant of the hardwood floor restoration process, so we put our trust in them to get it right. We read so many online reviews during our search; some were helpful, most were not. We felt it was good to give back and do a review that we would have appreciated to read a month ago, at the beginning of our search. It’s difficult to get a sense of a company’s honesty and competence from a simple google search, but this company is one of the good ones."

"Joe and his crew did an amazing job on my red oak floors. 5 rooms and a hallway were carpet; they removed all carpeting and were fast and efficient. I would recommend Joe for your flooring project. He recaptured the timeless beauty of my hardwood floors at a fair and reasonable price and was done in 2 weeks time."

"Joe and Jonathan did an excellent job repairing our hardwood floors when several other “hardwood flooring experts” said it couldn’t be done and we are so thankful! When our new cabinets were installed during our kitchen remodel, several areas were left with exposed, untreated bare wood areas. We were told the only way to fix it was to strip and refinish the entire floor, something we did not want to do as hardwood covered the entire lower level of our home! Joe came and inspected, said it would be a very tricky and difficult task to accomplish without being able to see the repair, explained what needed to be done and despite his reservations, agreed to take the job! Joe tasked his most experienced professional employee, Jonathan, to do the work. Not only did they blend it perfectly, they mixed the sealer perfectly so that the sheen was exactly the same and we were astounded at how perfect the job was done .
