"Update to Original Review: While corporate Floor & Decor did not investigate the issues, the local Floor & Decor did react and provide a partial refund to compensate for some of the additional tiles I had to purchase due to the quality issue. Original Review: I strongly encourage you to send your business and your hard-earned dollars elsewhere, be it a big-box retailer or one of the many smaller tile shops in the area. I had the misfortune to purchase tiles for a complete remodel of all my home tilework here recently. The large format tile that we selected for our foyer turned out to be of extremely poor quality. The tiles had inherent defects where the Professional Remodeler was unable to make even simple cuts to the tile without the tiles cracking. The remodeler and I visited this Floor & Decor location seeking their advice and direction. They offered no meaningful advice to the Contractor and could not find fault with the numerous cutting techniques that the Contractor had unsuccessfully attempted. The store representative told me that I had to purchase more tiles if I wanted the job completed but that I could then file a claim afterwards. This would also provide a complete accounting of the number of cracked tiles at job completion to submit with the claim. When the job was done, I had purchased 455 square feet of tile to cover an area of 187 square feet. Purchasing that much additional large format tile isn't cheap. I filed a claim that was soon rejected without any meaningful investigation. They didn’t examine the cracked tiles or run any material tests to confirm quality. Instead, they immediately blamed the Contractor, the same Contractor that they could provide no alternative guidance too just days earlier. In short, Floor & Decor does not guarantee the underlying quality of the tiles that they sell. Please don’t shop here because you, the customer, will have to bear the costs of poor quality if an issue arises. Don’t just take my word for it. Look at the other low score reviews of other customers who had issues and note the pattern. I wish I had done just that before I made the unfortunate decision to purchase from them."

"We chose our flooring online after much consideration and research. Then we placed our order by telephone to ensure it would be delivered in plenty of time as we were on a tight schedule, building our house. When our flooring was supposed to arrive and didn't, we contacted the company only to find out that the representative who took our order by phone didn't complete the order! Due to technical difficulties, our order had not been placed! The order was promptly placed and was scheduled to be delivered to the Shelby store. Once it was delivered, some of it was damaged and a lot of it wasn't stained correctly--factory error! This set us back even further. However, the manager of the Shelby Store, Sama, promptly contacted us, the factory, and many other stores to see if she could quickly get us what we needed to get our flooring project started. Unfortunately, the flooring we chose (Yukon Hickory Handscraped) wasn't in stock and would take so long to get. On her own time and of her own initiative, she went through her store there in Shelby and found choices of flooring, similar in style, hardness, and quality that she had there in stock that she could exchange the Yukon flooring for. All so we could get our project rolling! She kept in constant contact throughout the entire debacle, was understanding and very helpful and thorough. In fact, the flooring that we ended up installing was even better in quality and durability and complimented our interior perfectly! Again, I would recommend this store. Did I have shipping and manufacturing issues while going through floor and decor? Yes. However, this could happen anywhere. It was how it was handled that impressed me. It's very rare to find representatives like Sama from the Shelby Twp Floor and Decor store in retail anymore. When you come across such diligent and helpful employees like Sama who go the extra mile and understand true customer service, they deserve recognition. Thank you again, Sama! I've included pictures--some are with the soft lights and some are with the bright white LED lights so you can see the difference depending on the light. We have three children, two Golden Retrievers and two indoor cats. We wanted flooring that didn't show so much wear and tear but went well with our cabinets and wasn't too dark. These floors are American Spirit Chestnut Hickory Hand Scraped. Everyone who sees them and walks on them comments on how nice they look and feel. We are very happy with our purchase and much happier with the service."

"PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE FOR BUSINESS. THEIR DELIVERY FEE IS GRUESOME AND DO NOT MAKE THEIR CUSTOMERS AWARE OF THE INSANE CHARGES. My parents both speak little to no english and came here to purchase some tiles. The tiles that we ordered were delivered to our house by the company, we as a family decided that we were not going to install the new tiles anymore and loaded them back up in the car to return back to the store, needless to say none of the boxes were ever opened, touched or broken. All products delivered to our residence were in their boxes in the same condition they were brought to us. While awaiting the refund, my parents were told they were not not going to receive $352.80 of their money back because that was just the delivery fee. I looked back at the first receipt and was completely shocked that my parents who speak no english were unaware that they just paid $1082.00 for tiles and a massive delivery fee. I had a vehicle delivered to my home cheaper then these tiles were delivered to us. We live approx. 5 miles from this company, i have absolutely no idea as to how they quote their delivery charges but we are NOT hours away nor were they heavy tiles. The fact that they charge that much and refuse to return it is absolutely absurd, we really wanted to install the tiles but it was not what we as a family decided to do, and I was extremely upset that my parents were completely unaware of these charges because there was no way we would have agreed to have them shipped to the home by this company, they are not far and we would have simply picked them up ourselves, the same way we loaded them in our vehicle with zero issues and brought them back to the store. Extremely unhappy with this service."
