"We love it here and are learning how to swim. On occasion, we enjoy having a BBQ. Great spot for kayaking and fishing blue gill to throw back into the water. Watch out for an old man that sits in front of the trail with his husky mix dog. Their dog attacked mine one day that we were there with no rhyme or reason."

"Beautiful oasis from the urban city. Slow moving river allows self return in this area. Better for downstream car spotting near Dexter, MI. You can rent canoes and kayaks from Heaveners or put in at the public launch across Wixom road. Hiking trails here as well. Don't forget the Michigan State park membership $10 annual pass for MI residents a little more for out of state day pass."
