Lakeside Park

"This was our first time at the park. Upon parking and getting out of the vehicle there was a lady approaching and she was walking with her Rottweiler and a chuckit. I asked her if she was going to have her dog off leash and she said yes. I said okay and proceeded to leave but she was very kind and saying that she could leave. She insisted that her dog was very well trained. I asked if she was a dog trainer and she said no but that she's been working with her dogs since it was a puppy. Regardless of how well-trained you think your dog is the unforeseen is inevitable. Especially when kids are playing on the playground you just can't take chances. Unfortunately this has been the case with the surrounding parks. The only other thing to note was that there was a couple smoking weed in their vehicle. Two different sets of situations two different sets of people. It makes it incredibly difficult for people who follow the rules to find a place and feel safe themselves and the safety for their pets."

"There is a very nice playground for young kids, a pavilion, and several picnic tables. Great place for a picnic!"

"About two weeks ago I was here to fish. The park is owned by Ypsilanti and Eastern Michael University as they use the dock for their skulling team practices. It just so happened they were there today. When they were finished I did not know they would be pulling in the dock for winter. That limits your efforts to catch crappie by about 20 feet. But I stayed and fished for crappie 20 feet further in than before. Eventually get this bite but couldn’t hook it and the bait was gone. Rebait the hook and another bite occurs, but this one didn’t get away! Ta-da!! A beautiful 21” walleye. This is a great place to fish!!"

"Small but enough space to roam. Go there to walk and it's perfect for that. Nice pier, very wide. Beautiful views of Ford Lake."

"Looks like a nice spot for a birthday party. They have alot of tables and a couple grills..lots of garbage cans and bathrooms. Alot of space for parking. The bathrooms and the parking lot is locked right now because its still cold out. Im sure they open all that in the summer."
