"Ok- ....I searched awhile with some frustration- for a fence company that's kept the value of work and ethics - caring about what they do. I've been around long enough to see those values in a company change- esp with a generation. This is one of the companys in the Detroit area that have managed to maintain a business in a golden fashion. Two young men representing this 3rd generation company, Tony and Jermaine completed for us almost 90' of vinyl fencing in two days of consciencious effort. I am Very satified with their construction. They worked hard, watched their mannerisms and demonstrated that they cared about what they were doing. That counts with me- big time. So..... a few weeks later...I had them do a second install of some 70' or so. This time, they even returned a wrench to me that I had dropped along the fence line (incidentally- on two other occassions I've lost items to contractors- you can imagine). Joined by a coworker named John on the second day this work was also completed. Two jobs well done! So here's the follow up. I've spoken to their people in the office- Leslie (I believe one of the original owners) and Shawn (I believe 3rd generation) - they're good people to do business with. I'm comfortable now - enjoying my new privacy and looking forward to replacing the old wooden fencing falling from the the final edge of my lot..... I'm calling Great Lakes Fencing. "Great service, I have been trying to get my fence fixed for a while, called a couple of local companies in my area and had no luck. I found Great Lakes Fence and called within two weeks someone was out and gave me an estimate. And a reasonable one at that, the price was right and I had my fence repaired and gate replaced. "Great Lakes Fence quote was double the price ($16,000) of the other two quotes for exact same measurements and product. My guess is that Great Lakes Fence overcharge certain customers in certain areas; I advise minorities and senior citizens to be wary of this company. I chose one of the other two quotes for my new Fence Service and so happy with the results."

"BEWARE OF Great Lakes Fence; the are unethical price gouging crooks, I am a disabled senior citizen and called Great Lake Fence for an estimate to install a 5ft black chain link fence at my residence. Thank God I did my due diligence and got 3 estimates, only to learn Great Lake Fence’s estimate was over double the cost at $16,000, where the other 2 estimates came in a $6,000 and $6,800. I went with Kimberly Fence and they did a magnificent job. Stay away from Great Lake Fence as well as businesses displaying the Great Lake Fence emblem plate, unethical price gouging crooks think alike."

"The installers came and were patient waiting for my neighbors to move their dogs,from the yard. From the office staff to the installers both were courteous and took time to explain everything they came on time and cleaned up after. No changes in the price, price was a good look after getting many qoutes it was a pretty good price point."
