"I’ve had one decent experience here, that was a pickup for an online order. However, they’ve since reduced hours, with no accurate hours posted near the building entrance. They’ve also neglected to change their hours on their Google page. For such a large company, you’d think they could handle business 101 a little more professionally. Do better, your community has too many other good hardware store options for you not to."

"There is a 50 dollar limit for walk ins with no account. I understand setting a limit to justify the cost of a card transaction, but 50 dollars is excessive. Other similar companies don't have this excessive limit, so what is Fastenal doing that is special? Customer service is abysmal and everyone is rude and gives you dirty looks. There is very little hardware that is in actual stock, but at least you can go into the back room to pick them out in bulk. We asked if they had any extra end mills in stock, something they sell on the store floor and treated us like we were stupid for asking. Avoid this place, it's honestly not worth wasting your time. And their selection sucks."

"Great stock for what I need. I've had an account for years. I called today to check store hours and stock on a specific item. The girl checked stock in about 60 seconds, and let me know they had 48 in stock. I was looking for 200 of that item, and she ordered them for me, said they would be in tomorrow by 11am and they will call me when they arrive. I'm not sure the logistics, but it seems like this is a small store with a large warehouse/distributor nearby. They carry tons of fasteners and the epoxy I need for installing load bearing bolts into concrete. Update: They called me at 9:55am this morning to let me know my parts were in stock. They had them set aside and ready to go when I stopped by, very friendly service."
