"My sister and I wanted to get some chairs reupholstered for our parents as a Christmas gift. Our grandparents bought the chairs back in the early 1950s as an anniversary gift to each other, so they have some real sentimental value to all of us--but they were in pretty bad shape. A friend of mine referred us to Sue from Saugatuck Sewing and Upholstery, and I'm so thrilled that we found her! My sister and I live in Chicago, but our parents are in West Michigan--Sue was flexible with that, opening her shop especially for us when we were home for the holiday to visit. She was clear and honest in her communication with us throughout, giving us a broad (but pretty accurate!) cost estimate based on photos of the chairs and her knowledge about the cost of fabric, a clear sense of what the project would cost once the fabric was selected and she had the actual chairs, and a reasonable and accurate time frame. She communicated with my sister and me, as well as our parents... picked up and delivered the chairs since my parents' car is too small to fit them, etc. I'm so happy we trusted these special chairs to Saugatuck Sewing & Upholstery, and would gladly work with Sue again in a heartbeat! We're so glad we found her and would highly recommend her work!"
