Dr. Ifechide Nwabueze

"I think because we had medicaid we were treated a little differently at my sons appointment. I was told that my son had to get silver caps for his back teeth instead of the white ones because of some sizing issue. I thought that was weird but I did want his teeth to get better. I thought they got rid of the silver caps due to mercury so I was worried. Anyway we went back to get them removed and cleaned. I noticed we were placed in a nice room at first then we had to be placed in a different room. It was weird how there were different aids in there at first until we came in and they had to change it around. But yeah so we were supposed to be checking on the teeth and all of a sudden they tell me the xrays show that they had to put another one back on. I was not shown the xrays. Also we were not prepared for the procedure because it was early morning and I did not have him eat really so that he could get a good cleaning and observation. They did not ask me if he had eaten or anything just that he had to get this quick procedure. they put a gas mask over my child's mouth and he was so uncomfortable and scared and I believe he was becoming light headed because the doctor and her assistants were looking at the numbers getting worried. I was sitting there concerned but in a still panic mode which I am annoyed with because I should have never agreed to the procedure so quickly without being informed that it was going to happen prior to my sons appointment. I can tell the look on Dr. Ife's face that a mistake could have happened especially when she asked did I feed him and I said no because we came straight here for the cleaning and would eat after. The assistant had a sad worry in her eyes like she probably would quit one day, seriously, and I was upset and non communicative and ready to leave. I was told I couldn't get the xrays for that procedure I guess they didn't give the patients the copies. Which was weird because I've been able to see my own xrays before especially when I was a kid and had braces. Needless to say I never went back to see her. Truly disappointed that I didn't advocate more for myself then, but I'm gonna warn others now. This was back in 2020. I also found it weird that one of the dr's assistant told me that my child's teeth were great and that she was surprised but soon after Dr. Ife said he had another cavity after she had already taken the silver caps off previously. I'm a young single mother so I ask others to be aware especially if you have Medicaid."
