"Disclaimer, I don't ordinarily do negative reviews. I usually only leave a review for exemplary good products and services. I will take some blame here. I could have taken my business elsewhere. I chose to purchase from an underdog lumber yard. I am also well aware that wood is a hot commodity right now. However, my experience with Carter was exemplary poor. I noticed that the lumber I ordered was not in great shape but the manager offered to sell it to me "at cost". I know I'm not the biggest spender but now I have $1000 worth of lumber "at cost" that is nearly unusable. I literally did not know that cedar could grow MOLD. Now I have to find a new source just to finish this job. (read, big box) Disappointed."

"Called looking for decking. They asked if I had an account and I offered to open one. Was told they only sell to people with established accounts. As a licensed builder offering a new account and was told no it’s not worth it to them for one deck. In all reality I do many decks. I will make sure to never shop here."

"Horrendous customer service. I used to order roofing material from here and things went fine. Order custom windows and a two week lead time turned into 7 weeks because they didn't believe dimensions were correct. They were, not sure how that changes 2 weeks into 7. Then windows come in and they flipped a dimension even though they were confirmed multiple times through email. Guess what 100% their fault but want 7 weeks for replacement. Pat and Shane are absolutely worthless when it comes to customer service. Pat literally can't remember anything. He tried denying things that he literally texted and emailed. If it was my company I would seriously consider that my service reps and managers care more about everything else besides my customers. Super sad and embarrassing that a window job that was started in june (estimate) won't be completed until December because people have no integrity or pride in what they do. Jeldwen and Carter are absolute avoid at all cost suppliers. Unless something dramatic changes. I hope your contractor cares enough to read reviews and look into your suppliers and manufacturers reputations. If not it's time to find a new contractor. Unfortunately it's very rare to find people with integrity that stand behind their work but I hope you find them. Good luck."

"No Good. Do Not Use These People. I've had issues from lumber to windows. First of all they will not respond to any emails or follow up on window issues or bad lumber. Lots of warped lumber and just horrible OSB sheets. Ordered Anderson windows many won't shut tight and lock . The sliders leak and cannot adjust some with missing parts. They refuse to send out the Anderson window Rep. Do not deal with Pat he is absolutly the worst with no follow up. Your better off ordering your lumber and window from Standard Lumber in Sparta or even Home Depot. They had a better deal on Anderson Windows and I'm sure they will follow up with a Anderson window Rep. if needed. Do not make the same mistake I made by using these people."
