"Camped in the tent area right next to the water. Was very peaceful and pet friendly. There is a nice trial walk along dead river and around the huge pond. It is a protected natural environment, so please do not disturb the natural beauty along the trails and river. Very convenient location for exploring the UP. Each day we went out in a different direction exploring areas of the UP... Loved it!!!"
"We had a fire hydrant 6 ft from our camper door and the bathrooms were in rough shape. It is right next to a public works site so there were machines working/beeping at 7am and there was a sulfur smell. The park works for a place to park for the night but that’s about it."
"We just completed a week-long stay at the Tourist Park. Most of the sites are biggish and ours (75) this time was large and somewhat isolated. Many sites are along the water and many are in the woods. Restrooms and shows adequate and clean. Ice and wood are available. There is a tents only area that is popular especially on weekends. The Park itself is big enough to take a pretty big walk in if you go down past the dam. Just past the dam is a trailhead to an extensive mountain bike trail network. Within a 15’ drive there are longs of great hikes. A 25’ walk brings you the Lake Superior shore and a working ore dock. Lots of Marquette’s businesses and attractions are nearby."
"We loved the campground! We had a great campsite overlooking the lake, the bathrooms were clean and the shower was great. We couldn't find any drinking water though so we do recommend you bring your own!"
"Great location for camping, sites are roomy. Close to NMU, downtown and Lake Superior. The bathrooms are ok, could use hooks for hanging towels and such. Shower curtains are nasty and should be changed."
