Detroit Muffler and Brakes

"I had taken my car to Detroit Muffler & Brakes Inc on 02/21/24 for a safety check on what repairs needed to be done on my 2013 Ford Edge so it would be safe and road worthy. They looked it over and gave me an estimate on what needed to be fixed and or replaced and let me know that the repairs would be $2500. I told the worker that I'd return to get the repairs done, so I called the business on 02/22/24 and agreed to the repairs and dropped the vehicle off to be fixed. They called me back the same day and told me the car was ready to be picked up and that the vehicle was already test driven by one of their employees and everything was good as new. I arrived at the business, signed all the paperwork and paid the company for their services. When I started driving down the street the vehicle began shaking so I returned to the business and let them know about the issue. They ended up telling me that my transmission was the reason it was shaking, I told the worker that it shifted perfectly fine when I dropped it off to them and that I've never had any prior issues with the transmission. He told me that there's nothing else that they can do to fix the shaking and that it was something that I needed to get repaired. I would not recommend this place to anyone that's looking for car repairs."

"Came in after seeing a face book post looking for a mechanic. On Shannons recommendation I came in first thing in the morning. Extremely happy is what I am. They test drove and inspected my car. As I suspected I needed tie rods and control arm assembly. The parts were ordered, delivered and the repair was complete within 3 hours. There was NO price gouging or extra work at all. The dealers and tire shops wanted twice as much for the same repairs. I'll recommend this shop to any one that asks. Thank you all for being so good to me."

"I can't lie they do great work but they are way over priced. THEY WILL TAX YOU!!! In my case they tried to charge me almost triple what I paid at another shop to put my headers on. I did let these guys delete my muffler thought I needed to have it X pipe but the car end up already being X piped. Just to delete my muffler they charged me $400. I went back to have my shorty headers put on they told me $1200 600 a side. Lucky I was smarter this time and got quotes from other shops 2 to be exact both was significantly cheaper. I end up getting my headers put on for $400 and they told me they could've deleted my muffler for $100 "it's a simple job" So to sum it up they taxing great work but u going to pay up to triple the amount you would pay elsewhere Please Get An Opinion & Prices From Other Shops Before You Pay Their Outrageous Prices!!! You been Warned oh not to mention the random fees when checking out"
