"I wasted a month waiting on them to give me a quote for damage and in the end the just kept telling me the mechanic was "too busy." I am only leaving this review because I hope no one else will do the same as I did. Don't waste time with them by giving them photos or a Vin for a quote, even if they tell you. They may be unreliable. I called Somerset on April 10th as I had been hit on the side of my car and needed to report to the insurance company. I originally went in person at about 4 pm during the week because their hours said they were open. Despite the "Open" sign in the Window, when I called their number. they said they were closed. So I called the head mechanic and he told me they were closed despite the hours. Okay. It happens. So, I asked what I could do to get a quote since I had come that day because my schedule was usually busy and I depended on their open hours of business. Fortunately, the guy told me that I could just email pictures of my car with my Vin number and they would get back to me. I emailed this information that day. I called them the next day, on April 11 to confirm they received the information. The mechanic told me their office lady was out and they had issued with internet. I said okay and decided I would call the next day since they should be open. I called that Saturday April 12 and the lead guy asked if I had sent the information. I said yes, and asked if he saw the email. He said they were having some internet issues but it should be fixed soon and that's why he couldn't access my email. I said okay and gave them time to fix this. This time I waited and gave them until April 18th, asking if there was any update on my car. This time, the office lady answered and told me they received my email. She said the lead mechanic would get back to me. I never received a call or email. I called again on April 24th to ask if they had done anything with my pictures and Vin to determine a quote. The office lady told me the mechanic was too busy. i decided the next time would be my last if they hadn't followed through. The last time I called was May 1st. I asked if there was an update and she told me again the mechanic was too busy. I told her if there was no update even though I had almost waited a month I would be leaving a review detailing my experience because it made no sense for them to waste my time. So here is my review. I went in person once years ago and had a good experience. However, 2 or 3 years later and after following their own directions, they wagged me around and did not deliver anything, wasting my time. However, according to them all they had to do was assess the damage from the photo and use my VIN number. But for some reason, I was lead on a wild goose chase. I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else. Go in person if you want best service I guess. Good luck! :D"

"This company has a phone number that reads like hell, but their service was heaven. The devil’s in the details… I didn’t even have to call because when my car got hit, one of the tow truck drivers was driving by me, and he saw me get hit. He stopped to help immediately. Oh p.s. they towed my car on Friday the 13th, and they took me to a rental car place right away. Could’ve been a nightmare without them. THANK YOU!"

"I was referred to use this shop because they were honest. I had my car towed to the shop. When I received the bill for the towing, I could not believe how high it was. When I questioned the price of the towing, I was met with more aggression than concern for my matter. I would ask around first before choosing to use their services."

"I was involved in an auto accident and this shop was recommended to me by an individual handling issues with my claim. Upon first meeting Ed was very professional. I received a call from my insurance agent and was informed that I was being charged excessive fees. I reached out to the shop and explained to them what I was told. When I requested a break down in fees, I quickly understood what the agent was speaking of. I informed Ed of this and was told "Don't you have insurance?". I went to the facility after I requested a breakdown of the charges. I was directed to a sign on the wall with all the outrageous charges I was charged. I called and asked other shops about some of the fees. They had never heard of these fees. I asked other drivers, they had never heard of some of the fees. I called multiple tow companies, and none of their prices matched was I charged. Another thing to note, covid caused me to have an additional fee to be charged. My cars was deemed a total lost. It was explained to me that I received the covid charge because they had to spray a solution inside of my vehicle. Then, I was also charged a Hazmat charge. There was no hazardous waste or material in my vehicle. The reason this post is being made is because, I trusted another individual. I should have done my own research and read the fine print. I did not do either. I blindly sent my vehicle to a shop on another person's word, that I did not know. I can't speak to the quality of work because, NOTHING was done to my vehicle. If I would have known about the $500 Gate fee, $250 Covid fee, $200 Hazmat Fee, $100 x day storage fee, and other items listed on the wall, I would have chose another option that wasn't so costly. Even in all of this, I was informed about his number of years in the business, and I was provided with a list of charges with explanation. If you decide to use this shops services go have a conversation first. DO NOT take your car first. Also read all the writing on the wall. It will save you a lot of time, money, and frustration. I expected charges because, it is a business. I didn't expect to be used as a cash grab in a time where I needed real help. Thanks for the lesson. It cost me almost as much as a grad school course."

"In ten years I have used Somerset Auto twice. After an accident, the last thing you want is to have to worry if your collision shop can handle the job or if they are overcharging you. Norm and Ed take that concern and throw it out the window. They are friendly, knowledgeable, professional, extremely fast and do an impeccable job! I picked up my vehicle today and felt like it was in better shape than before the accident. I am so happy with their service. It is so nice to turn the page on that stressful time and get my life back to normal. Thank you very much!!!"
