"My husband and I used Golling to purchase a used Toyota truck about a month before our experience with the service department. We had a good experience with our purchase and really appreciated that free oil changes were a part of our purchase. So much so, that we had been considering going through Golling again in the future for another vehicle (the lease is almost up on the other vehicle). A week ago, my husband was driving to work and warning lights came on. His work is close to Golling, and due to our previous positive experience, he decided to take it back to the dealer. So, one issue was found and they gave us a quote and while fixing that issue, another issue was found which they did inform us about. My husband mentioned on the phone his disappointment that the vehicle already needed service after owning it for one month. The person on the phone explained that the 2nd issue was something that wouldn’t have been routinely checked before sale. When the vehicle was ready, my husband again spoke with the service department about the possibility of a break on the overall cost of the repair, to which he was told “sorry but no”. He did speak with a manager who gave him a 0.7% discount on the service. Now, I fully believe in paying for service, and the labor of those who provide the service. Had the issues been as a result of our own wear and tear on the vehicle, we would have paid the full amount without reservation. Being that we have owned the vehicle for a month, these were issues that were not a result of our use. I also fully recognize that we signed that we would take the vehicle as is. But, customer service goes a long way. We were ready to consider Golling in the future but the lack of legitimate wiggle room on the cost of the repairs made us feel as though the service department was out for a buck, not a lifelong customer. Having a used vehicle, there is an expectation that we would need service on some issues along the way (although maybe more than 1 month after purchase), and had the service department waived a bigger amount, we would have been sold and felt like this was a place we could trust. Our experience has made us realize that this is not a place we will be giving our business for any future repairs."
