I plan to have Dr. Stern perform the dental work I have delayed for too long because I couldn't find a dentist I trusted or a dentist who didn't punish me because I don't have dental insurance."

"Over the last two weeks, I have been prayerfully considering how I would word this review. Before, I had a 5 star review on this practice on account of how Sandra & Dr. Stern work with uninsured and underinsured patients, but now the time has come to address a couple long standing issues and now a major problem. 1) When you ask for the numbing gas, Dr. Stern always turns it to the lowest level possible, where you may not even notice that it is on. Pinching pennies, I guess. So don't even bother with this place if that is something you need I'm order to have dental work. 2) Dr. Stern is a very poor communicator. You go in for a complaint, and he takes x-rays and goes to work. If you don't ask any questions, he'll dig around in your mouth without letting you know what the plan of action is. Finish whatever he decides to do, and then send off. Very peculiar mannerism. That's my observation, coming here over the past number of years: ASK QUESTIONS. 3) Now the problem I am dealing with: a number of weeks ago, I sent an email asking for an extraction or preferably root canal for a tooth that lost a filling. Sandra gets me in a couple of days afterwards, I had to follow up with a phone call and ask for an appointment. I had a filing come out of a molar and now it is wayyyy worse than it was before Dr. Stern worked on it. I asked for a root canal and he decides to replace the filing, so I guess the customer isn't always right... Spent what felt like forever in my mouth drilling. Replaces the filing and I go along on my way. I don't know WHAT HE DID, but I have been in waves of pain ever since. Now the safe bet is that the tooth can't be saved and must be pulled. I've been having to take Ibuprofen, Meloxicam, Naproxen just to sleep, because the pain WILL come and wake me up. I'd call and ask for a prescription that can meet this level of physical suffering, but he wouldn't do it and that would just tick me off even more. So an honest and sincere two stars is where we are at now."

"Dr Stern has been my dentist for 20 years or longer. I have 5 other family members who also use his services. I would definitely recommend him. When I walk in the office I know that I will leave very satisfied. Added benefit is they are open on Sundays. Sandra the office manager is also great she follows up on appointments and emergency messages. The dental hygienist does a excellent job cleaning our teeth!"
