"I’ve been a loyal customer of this location for 45 years, back to 1978, which was Dr Jay Hoorn’s first year in practice. When he retired, the office went through some changes, but nothing like the last few years. Highland Ave has gone corporate! Dentists don’t stay much longer than a year and none of them can compare to the Hoorn brothers or even Dr Curtis, who succeeded them. The office has repeatedly rescheduled cleanings, up to three times, in some cases. Which makes routine cleanings go from six months to more than nine, between visits! Our children have even experienced a rude and impatient manner with more than one of the replacement dentists. They are not upfront with what is covered by your insurance and then expect payment, on demand, after deceitfully performing the non covered procedure. I asked them to send me a bill and they refused! I’ve never been treated like I can’t pay a bill and I refuse to be, after being a patient there for most of my life. Just sitting in the waiting room, I’ve witnessed several other customers, on phone calls with the receptionist or in person, who have similar issues. My family and I are looking for a new dentist, six customers gone and growing!"

Seems my insurance didn't cover it like it always had. No notice, nothing. Just a random bill out of nowhere. Turns out, I won't be going back to HFD. Good luck."
