"Took my vehicle in for what I was absolutely sure was either a bad wheel bearing or CV axle, prepared to pay a lot of money to get it fixed. It cost $15 total. They were prepared to order the part based on my call and two Ford backyard mechanics' word. However, upon the mechanic's inspection and diagnosis we discovered severely loose lug nuts had caused the noise and strange behavior. They were surprised the wheel had not fallen off. It was so loose that the tire moved side to side with just hand pressure. There was miinor damage to the wheel itself but nothing vital. If they had replaced either one or both of those expensive components, I would never have been the wiser. I have total confidence in this shop based on several interactions with Smith & Doster over the years I've lived in their village. This was the second time I'd taken a vehicle in for what I expected to be a very expensive repair and drove away with only a few dollars in charges to fix the issue."
