"I leased a 2021 Land Rover Evoque from Sharpe Cars in June 2021. By January 2022 the vehicle was in the shop due to a dead battery. Since then, the battery will not remain charged in the vehicle despite driving it the recommended amount of time. Sharpe and Land Rover are aware of the battery charging issues in the Evoque, however, all they do each time I have it towed for service is replace the battery and send me back on my way. This has happened close to half a dozen times since January 2022. Each time I have to take time to call roadside assistance, wait 2 hours for them to come tow the car, deal with the roadside assistance person and then obtain an alternative method of transportation while my car is being serviced. This alone is horribly inconvenient to deal with on a recurring basis, but the fact is that this car is not reliable. According to one employee, Land Rover deems it acceptable for a battery charge to last only 14-16 days! I work from home often and also travel for work. This is why I went with a low mile lease. I don’t have a schedule that permits driving the car for the sake of driving it to keep the battery charged, and even if I did, it doesn’t hold a charge after being driven. I have been asking to be let out of my lease, but they want me to pay for the negative equity for a car that has practically spent more time in the shop than in my driveway, or they will tell me not to keep the key nearby the car and not park by antennas. They leased me this vehicle knowing the model is prone to battery issues and that there is a 14–16-day standard for holding a charge. This information should have been disclosed prior to me signing a lease. Given the prestige of the Land Rover and Sharpe brands, you expect that you will receive a reliable vehicle when doing business with them."
