"The Studio did my hair and make up for my wedding and they did an amazing job. I did not know anything about The Studio in Princeton. I saw the name when researching places for hair and makeup on other people's suggestions. The place is so charming. The store section is cute and the salon section was welcoming and comfortable. I did a trial run and the whole salon was reserved just for me. Tiana was my stylist. I cannot say enough good things about her. She was so warm and welcoming, instantly felt comfortable with her. She was great at discussing options for my hairstyle for my wedding. I had a vague idea what I wanted based off of a picture and she did my hair even better than the picture. She did my make up as well. She had great ideas and recommendations and is also open to suggestions and feedback. On the day of the wedding, she and an assistant came to the location, Starved Rock Lodge, which was such a great service. She was on time and kept us girls on time. She has a calming, easygoing , and kind nature that was so pleasant to work with and very welcomed on an already crazy morning. She also did a great job on securing a very heavy veil in my hairstyle. My makeup was perfect, not too overdone. It accented my face naturally which I was pleased with. My hair stayed all night even through the weather of taking pictures outside in February. Highly recommend The Studio for wedding hair and make up or just to visit, shop, or enjoy the salon! Thank you so much for everything."
"I love the way Cheri cuts and colors my hair! She listens and educates on the science behind coloring my hair and what would work best with my skin tones and hair type. She is very friendly and professional! I am always happy with my experience with this salon when I leave."
"There should be zero stars. My first encounter was not a good one. I purchased a package of tanning sessions. When I went back to get my second one, the clerk, who used a snotty attitude, told me that all of the sessions had been crossed off. I informed her that I had used one, only one...because they had closed down for a long time and was never able to use any of them. She looked again and said she could see that and said she would reverse what was done. No apologies. None. Very condescending. Second encounter. I made an appointment three weeks in advance. On the day of the appointment I got a call from another uppity voiced clerk who snidely informed me that 'something had come up' and my appointment was cancelled. I was asked when I was available. I told her the next week. She told me that nothing was available for three more weeks. Again, very condescending and talked down to me. Most likely, it is an just an act because...well, this is a small town and not Chicago. I expect to encounter this in Chicago, but in a small town...I expect friendly small town atmosphere. The attitude of the clerks is unacceptable. Never talk down to your customers. It does not make you appear rich or special...just snobby. (Along with the shoddy bookkeeping and appointment booking.) PS - Another salon answered their phone in a friendly manner and happily got me in that day and was so accommodating and now has my business."
"I was here as a part of a bridal party for a "spa day". We had reserved time with 2 different technicians for the majority of the day. The salon itself was really nice, and the clothes are super cute, but I was not thrilled with the lack of attention to detail by the individual who did my full set. I guess she wasn't pleased that some of us wanted full sets or fills, and it was pretty obvious by the time it was my turn in the chair. She rushed through the fill and didn't really file the nails prior to half-heartedly applying the polish. About only 30 minutes after completing our services, one of the nails chipped, and when I returned to see if it could be fixed, I asked her to take a look at it and she quickly passed me off to the lady who did my pedicure. That woman said she didn't really have much experience with acrylics, and that the individual who did my nails originally was their main manicure technician, that she had received complaints like this before, and that her behavior is "just how she is". When I asked where she had gotten her nails done, she told me she had gone to another salon, and that the main manicure technician went elsewhere also. Not a good sign when the individuals doing your nails go elsewhere for their own. I had purchased multiple services totalling over $100, and expected better quality for the cost of their services. It was $35 for a fill and shellac (that I was guaranteed wouldn't chip), when I could have had a better quality service for under $20 just about anywhere else. Moral of the story is, if you dont want to go home and have to fix your nails yourself, don't go here for full sets. The woman who does them doesn't like doing them, and It will be very obvious in the quality."
