"If I could put a negative star review I would. I have been coming to this salon for about 8-10 years. I live in Auburn Hills now and I drove all the way over to Lin in Sterling Heights to have a full set done. From the moment I walked in Lin had a horrible attitude. I asked her for a pedicure which I was also scheduled for. She stated she could not paint my toe nails for a reason that made no sense so she ended up painting my toes clear with a thick band of white at the top - not cute at all. Then comes time for a full set which came out HORRIBLE. I planned to have my toes and my fingers match with a thin band of white for a skinny french tip look. Lin had pushed me numerous times to choose a different material - gel X - to use instead of acrylic. Despite telling her I did not want the gel X she made me so uncomfortable that I ended up saying okay. She saw and knew the design I wanted from the beginning yet she choose to use a clear Gel X plastic press on nail. THEN she used a SEE THROUGH bright PINK color to use as a base. After I told her I wanted a more neutral color for the base she chose yet ANOTHER SEE THROUGH color. After two coats the color, the nails were see through for about half the nail and when she went to apply the skinny white paint line it looked horrible. INSTEAD of apologizing and offering to fix it or refund me, she is EXTREMELY rude to me. At this point I had not given her an ounce of confrontation yet she had raised her voice at me, was grabbing at me when I told her not to continue, and was belittling me. I still sat through this and allowed her to run my card for payment WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN FREE. After this she stated she did not want a tip from me - but condescendingly stated she had just wasted three hours on me. At the end she could not fix my fingers after I politely asked her to. I still tipped them but I left CRYING because of how she treated me. THIS WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Regardless of whether or not the nails came out badly is not as big of a deal compared to the way in which I was treated for a mistake that SHE made. I tried to convince myself that I would not write this review and I never do because I do not want to hurt anyone's business. But the way in which she raised her voice at me, argued with me when I stayed neutral, grabbed at me, and belittled me pushed me to this place. In all the years I had visited her she had been rude but this visit was another level. The place was not busy at the time either. Not to mention my nail fell off after ONE DAY and they look like nails I could buy at the pharmacy for $8. When I called back today to let her know it fell off and that the way she spoke to me made me cry, she continued to belittle me and say it was all my fault and not to come back again. I have never in my life been so hurt by a business especially one I basically grew up with and was loyal to. Lin used to do a great job at doing nails but has since severely declined in her skills and most importantly human decency to her customers. If you want someone who will LISTEN to what YOU want and do push for an agenda THEY want for YOUR nails and to just be talked nicely to, do not visit this place."

"I’ve been going to this salon since I was a young girl. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Whether it’s shellac, dip or acrylic I know I will walk out with beautiful nails. If you’re looking for a place that is affordable and does phenomenal work this is your spot! Again, everyone here has talent but I wanna shine a special light on L. She always goes above and beyond. I show her a style and she delivers! She did this beautiful set on me today. Thank you Malia Nails for being my go to nail salon for so many years!"

"I went on Saturday for a pedicure and manicure. On Tuesday my figure started to hurt like I jammed my finger in something. I ended up getting a finger felon from a dirty nail drill. Be careful! I don’t think I can ever go back here after this."
