Iron Shoe Distillery
About the Business
Iron Shoe Distillery is a unique bar, food, and restaurant located in Niles, Michigan. We are a small batch distillery that takes pride in crafting high-quality spirits from locally grown grain. Our name is inspired by the legend of St. Dunstan and the protection of horseshoes, which guides our spirit production. As a family-owned and operated business, we serve delicious food made from scratch, including burgers made from naturally raised angus beef. Our restaurant is family-friendly with options for vegans and vegetarians as well.
In addition to our distillery and restaurant, we offer a vintage horse trailer bar called the Two Horse Saloon for mobile cocktail services at events. We also provide catering services and host private events in our tasting room. Our Lakeview Lounge in Battle Creek and other locations offer a similar experience for those looking to enjoy our craft cocktails and unique atmosphere. Visit Iron Shoe Distillery for a taste of locally sourced spirits and a memorable dining experience.

"Short and simple of it. Bloody Mary was good. I would order the soup and the burger again. My Brussels sprouts were charred pretty bad which made them bitter and my wings were probably the smallest wins I have seen in a decade. My server was great. I don’t believe I ever reached the bottom of my drink."
"Iron Shoe - 14 Nov 23 I've been coming here for years for cocktails, sipping whiskey, and great food. I don't believe I've ever had a negative experience. If you haven't been, you need to correct that. Staff is always friendly and professional. Other visitors are always cheerful it seems. The environment is clean and inviting. It's just a great place to go for a bite and a few pours. Cocktails - I tried a few: - Cranberry Orange Whiskey Sour - Blood Orange Old Fashioned - Apple Cinnamon Old Fashioned All these were great - they make great cocktails with their whiskey, rye, and bourbon. Favorite, hands down, as the Apple Cinnamon Old Fashioned. It's fall, and this drink says all there is to say about the perfect drink for an autumn evening. Cheddar and Cauliflower Soup Steaming hot Light flavor Smooth texture, not gooey. Cauliflower is so light, it's hard to to bring the flavor out, but this soup does a great job of highlighting that in a simple, almost elegant manner. This probably won't be a favorite I'll make at home, but it was perfect for a chilly evening warmer. White Cheddar Cheese Curds w/ Sriracha dipping sauce What is there to say? They're always amazing. If you haven't tried them, you should. Two orders of those is easily considered dinner. Yep, I've done that. Crispy Brussels Sprouts w/ Sriracha dipping sauce Not crispy, but not mushy either. Texture is everything for Brussels Sprouts. I was not impressed. Oddly, I became impressed, as hunger led me to continue working through the basket. The ones on top were sketchy. The further I got into the serving, the better they got. Nice and firm, but not crunchy. Perfect crisp on the outside. Great bites in the end. Wonder if you can just order the bottom half of the fryer basket? There are pics of more than what I reviewed here, which are from previous visits, but I don't have a good enough memory to add comments. Well... always get the mac and cheese for a side. #local3 #goodfood #food #sandwich #sandwiches #burger #onionrings #restaurant #restaurantreview"
"Nearly 30 years ago when I first saw Pulp Fiction, the cheeseburger scene stuck with me. The other day I made a joke about how deep down I've been wanting a Big Kahuna Burger ever since. Luckily, I was directed to Iron Shoe. Hot diggity damn, Iron Shoe Distillery came through and how!! This burger was worth the wait, but I won't be waiting 30 years to get it again. Burger, cheese, grilled pineapple, bacon...what's not to love? They had plenty of tasty beverages to choose from. I had the cherry limeade. Also had the Parmesan truffle fries and crispy fried brussel sprouts. Absolutely everything was spot on!"
"Went for the first time after seeing a movie today. Hoping to sit outside but no luck. Service wasn’t super great, hoping to try the drink of the month but they were out of an ingredient. The burger I had was very good, my husband loved his nachos my kids both really enjoyed their meals, though my kids fries weren’t warm anymore when they came."
"This was our first time here and it was a great experience. We had the bruschetta stuffed avocados and they were great. The pulled pork nachos were delicious and the Memphis BBQ that they put on it was fantastic. My wife had the shrimp ceviche which she must have really enjoyed because I didn't even get a taste of it. We also had the six shot flight. I'm not a big drinker but there were a couple of decent flavors. Our server, Paula, was great. Very attentive and quick. Our food was out before we even finished our avocado appetizer. We are looking forward to going back and trying other things on the menu! Went again on 3/5/23, Jen was out server and was fantastic. The photos are from this visit. The pulled pork nachos were good but the pork could have used more seasoning but the BBQ sauce stole the show again. I even asked for more. We had the crispy brussel sprouts as an appetizer. We also had the Big Bad Wolf burger and the Sweet & Salty Burger. If you get a chance to go, I highly recommend!"
