"We have been to Cleary’s Pub several times and have really enjoyed the food. The fish and chips is normally served hot and delicious. The burgers are great. Today, it wasn’t good. We have no idea what the cook thought he was doing with the French fries. He cut the potatoes so thin that they were curling up. They were overcooked and translucent. The whole potato was ruined. Not one part of the “French fries” were soft. Every piece of potato was bad. We asked the waitress why he made them like that, and she said that’s how it’s been the last year. We have eaten there the last 3 months at least 5 times, and never had such bad fries. They normally look like fries and taste good. The fish was awful too. It wasn’t the traditional thick, white fish that the cook made in the past. It was extremely thin barely any fish, just a whole bunch of bad tasting oversalted batter strips. Why ruin a good thing? The hamburger was okay. My son asked for medium well and it still had some pink. The waitress took forever bringing over the check, and then we had to wait so long for the change. She finally comes back, and yells out is there anything else I can do for you? Like she really was so helpful. It wasn’t a good meal. We won’t be back again. It’s not worth $56 for some Pepsi and 2 entrees, and tip."
"Stopped here to have dinner after doing some shopping in Chelsea. It was busy, we sat at the bar and the bartender greeted us and took our drink order right away. You could tell there were many regulars dining here, and I can see why. Fish and chips were excellent, crispy, cooked perfect, not greasy or fishy tasting. My wife had the Reuben, which she raved about. Beer was nice and cold, service was awesome, and it’s a cozy place."
"Our first time here, turns out they could be pretty busy early on a Sunday but we were able to find a table right away and service was prompt and friendly. There was never any doubt that I had to try the tater tot poutine and it was truly awesome. The only tiny note would be to in some way heat the cheese curds so they're a little melty, some were actually a bit cold even. My wife's brown sugar Burger was surprisingly awesome. Wonderful place, we will certainly go there again when we're in the area."
"Wow! My wife and I really enjoyed our time together and the food, service (Yay, Trina!), and atmosphere. The live music was very entertaining. The artichoke dip is a must! The Cleary Burger was awesome! The Greek Salad with chicken was very good. And the Cranberry/Walnut bread pudding finished the night off wonderfully. This was our first time and will surely not be our last!"
"This pub was cute. It was fairly busy as it was Friday night. It was a seat yourself which in my opinion was the start of the service downfall. We found a clean table located next to the live music and we waited. No one came over to us for many minutes, we pulled the menu up on our phones as we attempted to wave down a waitress. Someone came over and said I guess I can take the table. We ordered immediately. The food was pretty good. They were out of a lot of things... No corn dog or pizza dough for the kids meal. No Pepsi or Mt Dew. We never saw our waitress again. Another lady cleared our empty plates and we asked her for the bill. We waited to pay with a card but never saw anyone again so we left cash and left. The pub was cute overall- live music was good and food was solid pub food. It won't be our first choice to return to but we would go back."
