The Golden Leaf - Michigan City 232 West 4th Street, Michigan City, IN 46360

"Stopped in for a smoke on a road trip back home and was quite pleased with this shop and lounge. The clerk was friendly and inviting. It's clear the shop is a converted home, but they make it work well. Good selection of premium and mid brands and accessories. Lounge is small but cozy and has some nice amenities like free coffee and water handy. A handful of regulars happened to be there and were happy to let me (a stranger) participate in conversation. The only part of the visit that held it back from being a perfect 5 star is the cigar I smoked (Plasencia Cosecha 149) was a tad on the dry side, so they could probably bump the humidity a couple percentage points. Also I didn't have a light on me while traveling and the lounge lighter was an absolute unit which made it hard to touch it up without flaming the heck out of my cigar. Overall those are nit picks and I wouldn't hesitate coming back, and likely will on a future trip along I-94"

"Fantastic service and selection. We were visiting for the weekend, and I didn’t bring any cigars, so I decided to stop in. I picked up a lighter/ cutter combo, two Oliva Milania Serie V and travel caddy. Had a great conversation with the owner and felt more like a friend than a customer. If I’m ever back in the area I plan to stop again and make time to join in on a smoke in the lounge."

"First off... Without a doubt will be back. My girlfriend and I stopped in as we were staying at Blue Chip and looking for things to do in the area. We walked in to a vast selections of cigars in this shop and was greeted by Matt who was nothing short of amazing to work with. I knew nothing about cigars and after explaining this to him, he asked me a few questions to gauge my preference and selected the perfect cigar for me (which I opted to save and smoke right now back home in Indianapolis). "After traveling through the country for a month and dying for a good cigar every night around the campfire, I found this location on Google Maps while staying nearby. Stopped in early on a Sunday while Matt was working, and couldn't have felt more welcomed! Matt is the perfect person for a place like this- super knowledgeable with just the right amount of help to point you in the right direction, while also letting you explore on your own. Wound up with some great cigars and couldn't be happier! Anyone, whether local or swinging through, should definitely check out the Golden Leaf in Michigan City!"
