Reviews of Open Flame
"Great place to grab a meal or drink. Expansive menu. Service was great as well. Great Happy Hour weekdays"
"This is a really nice place with a variety of great food. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. Service was excellent. They serve yummy bread. Their soups are delicious. All of our entrees were really good. Great place to take a group with varied food likes. Can't wait to go back."
"Good spot for a wide variety of American options. This place has a something for anyone and everyone. They have pizzas, steaks, sandwiches, stir fry, and lots more. The restaurant is large and was very busy even midafternoon on a Friday. They have a variety of seating options as well including a nice outdoor patio. The wait staff were kind and polite but spread thin and a bit overwhelmed. The prices for everything were fair. Breakfast is served until 3PM. Bread with butter and herbed olive oil was served before the meal. I ordered a fish fry and others ordered salads, soups, and sandwiches. All the food was good but not incredible. The breading on my fish fry was a bit different than what I’m used to but was fine. The meal also came with corn, coleslaw, and potato pancakes. The sides were good, but the applesauce for the pancakes was clearly out of a can. The meal also included a lobster bisque to start, which was good but a bit sweet. The clam chowder I also tried was good. The biggest detraction to this place was the pace of the meal. We were greeted quickly but then went long stretches before seeing our waitress. She was very busy. Some of our group ended leaving while waiting for the bill because of how long it was taking. Likely not a great option for a quick lunch."
"I just happened to be in this area of town and decided to stop in for lunch. It was not quite what I expected. It was more than I expected! It had the look and atmosphere of a 40's and 50's old style steak house. The food was really good. We were seated immediately. Once we were seated, they brought bread. What can I say about THE BREAD AND BUTTER. I haven't had bread that good since the Athens restaurant on 11th Mitchell st closed. For my meal I had the 9oz. Angus New York Strip Steak & Three Jumbo Fried Shimp with Garlic Mash Potatoes and Mixed Vegetables and a Bowl of Chicken Dumpling Soup. I had the steak prepared to a medium well. It was cooked perfectly. It was the best steak I'd had in about 2 years. It was flavored perfectly. I usually don't eat garlic mash (being a vampire), but these were prepared with just the slightest hirt of garlic. The only slight drawback, they were lukewarm. They were delicious. The mixed vegetables were cooked to the right tenderness and seasoned to perfection. The soup, well, let's just say only my mother is almost as good. My wife had the Crab Cakes for an appetizer she loved them. For her meal, she had the Rotisserie Chicken Pot Pie with Fresh Fruit. She had gotten so full from her appetizer and the Bread that she took her meal home. I will be returning soon."
"We had a great experience from the time that we parked all the way until we left the restaurant. There was no wait, we got a corner booth in a quiet part of the restaurant. Our server Bryan was attentive and catered to all of our orders expertly. The food was fantastic. I had the surf and turf for my entree and my wife had the lobster bisque and crab cakes. We also had the fried mozzarella for an appetizer. Even the Wisconsin old fashioned I had was great! Thanks for hosting us and I would heartily recommend!"
