"I love this store. One of the last real department stores left. It's a nice change from the usual online shopping routine. And to think, not that long ago, this is how we shopped for everything."
"The friendly staff was great, and handled the overwhelming amount of customers very well considering there are only 2 photographers. Unfortunately it is 2023 and people havent gotten any smarter and fail to realize the simple fact that only 2 photographers have to take their time if you want nice photos, Simple concept people...As a result we had an hour and 20 wait, and although it wasnt anticipated, it was very well worth it. Shout out to Meghan our photographer, she's a great person and an EXCEPTIONAL photographer as well. Keep up the good work ladies"
"Had an horrible experience at the JCPenney Beauty inside of JCPenneys. As soon as I walked in , the cashier did not greet me. But instead, decided to follow me around the store. Anytime I walked to a different area of the store she was right there following behind me. After a while, customers started to come into the JCPenney Beauty however, she still made sure she kept a close eye on me SPECIFICALLY. She never followed any of the other customers around the store which, made me think that I was being targeted and racially profiled. I noticed she went over to the register and made a phone call. After she made the phone call about 2-3 minutes later this guy comes into the store and IMMEDIATELY starts staring at me, acting as though he’s a customer. I noticed every isle I was in, he was right behind me, just like the cashier was doing when I first entered the store. So, I purposely went into different areas of the store to see if he would follow me and there he was tracing right behind me. That made me feel extremely uncomfortable so, I proceeded to put the items that I was going to purchase back on the shelf. As I was walking out the store, I noticed the guy following me ( was told his name was YaYa) and the cashier conversing. That made me very suspicious and skeptical. The guy exist the store maybe 30 secs or so after me, I then approached him and expressed how he and the cashier made me extremely uncomfortable following me around the store. I asked if he worked at JCPenney and he proceeds to say he’s “security “ and that he was “observing the cameras and decided to pop in” . He then expresses that around the holidays people are known for stealing and fraudulent activities. Which to me seemed as though he was implying that I was stealing? Even if you believe that an individual is being suspicious, there’s different protocols and procedure measures that you take to handle the situation. That was very unprofessional, unscrupulous, and unethical. I spoke with a manager and she took my contact information saying she will put the complaint into the system and her supervisor will contact me the following day. No one has YET reached out to me about this matter. I’ve called and left a voicemail to the supervisor (Tara) but, to no avail STILL no correspondence. At this point, I will never go back to this JCPenney location, I was clearly discriminated against and felt as though I was being racially profiled, racially stereotyped, and targeted purposely because of my ethnicity!"
"Came here during the weekend for the dinosaur expedition next door and decided to browse around the store. Not a lot of customers as well as the mall itself. It’s Sad to see this mall go downhill. It used to be so pack with people but now it’s just dead. I heard the mall is going to be closed completely by the end of 2023."
"Yesterday I entered the Lakeside JCPENNEY,shorty after it opened, looking like a lost soul. And a nice cashier asked me if I needed some help,I told her I wished to make a return from my online order. She directed me to another station a few feet away and said she would meet me theefre. She then directed the girl there on how to do an online return. She then call the cashier downstairs to help me pick out a bra for my mom,a few minutes later I was on my way. I found out the first lady was the store manager, her customer service was excellent and she should be commented. I also received my refund on my card within 24 hours. Overall I give my experience five stars"
