Reviews of Plato's Closet Grand Rapids, MI
"Terrible. My husband brought some coats and shoes in and it took THREE hours only for them to not take a single thing. Furthermore, they originally quoted him for only having to wait for two hours. I understand things can’t always be taken/bought, but to make someone wait 3 hours before they receive a notification that their bags are done being looked through is absurd. It wasn’t overly busy by any means and they didn’t even acknowledge or apologize for the extreme wait or overtime. We’ve been bringing our clothing items to this Plato’s for year, but customer service has continued to decline in the last couple of years. I highly recommend for no one to bring their items to this Plato’s in general."
"Plato's closet wouldn't have got one star from me. Well the one in Grand Rapids at least. I've been doing business with both locations locally as well as uptown cheapskate once upon a child so on and so forth. I've never had worse customer service Dan at the Grand Rapids location from every one of their employees. So with that being said I will no longer be doing business there"
"I've been a consistent customer for over 10 years at this location, the store seems relatively clean and decently organized for the most part and when I come in, I can usually find some cute things for a decent price. But sadly that bare minimum is the only reason I can bring myself to return at times because of the consistent negative atmosphere with in this store that seems to just keep getting worse. Throughout the revolving door of employees I've seen come and go over the years there seems to be a permanent passive aggressiveness that emits from the workers. There's only one employee that will greet me, be kind and willing to help me over the years, I don't know her name but I'm pretty sure she has curly hair, shout out to her because she is the only saving grace for the entire staff. I have been scoffed at for asking for a fitting room, I've been actively ignored for 4+ minutes while waiting to ask for a bin or to cash out. Had eyes rolled at me for asking for basic assistance. Last time I was here an employee inserted herself inbetween me and the tshirts I was looking through while she proceeded to organize them, grabbing the shirt I was looking at and essentially pushing me out of the way with out even saying excuse me or acknowledging my presence. I was so taken back I walked out right then. It had gotten to the point where I would just try to scan through a few sections to leave as quick as possible. The saddest part is I have a few friends who also stopped shopping at this location years ago due to similar if not worse experiences. I've decided the cheap prices are not worth the burden of the atmosphere your staff creates, hopefully a drastic change will create a place people actually want to spend their time and money at in the future."
"Absolutely love Plato’s. If I’m going shopping in a new town I always check to see if they have a Plato’s just to check it out. This one did not disappoint! I found my dress for an upcoming Christmas party."
"There's always a wait list when I try to sell my clothes. The last time I went in to sell, there was a 4-hour wait when the store was supposed to close in 4 hours. They required that I pick up my rejected clothes the same day as well."
