"Respite has GREAT coffee and food! I've been going here for years and I've never been disappointed. It's definitely worth a stop in! It's not very large inside, but it's cozy and welcoming."

"A cute place with so much potential it has air condition seating inside a very large patio outside in the sun also one in the shade. It's funny this place is called cappuccino because they don't know how to make one we got one and it seemed like coffee mixed with some milk it wasn't a proper cappuccino with the foam on the top. The lattes seemed watered down you couldn't taste the coffee. Even just the plain brewed coffee was lukewarm. The avocado toast was excellent and the tourist wrap was delicious but I found the fruit to be a little bit off some of the strawberries were wilted a little bit and some of the blueberries were soft and gushy. I also found it odd in a tiny place like this with only two or three customers they put the food and the drinks on the front counter and don't bring it to your table and then there's nowhere to get the forks and napkins so you have to repeatedly ask them for things like that because they didn't think to put them out with your food. Unfortunately it seems training is very much needed here and some better customer service policies. We had three coffees and two breakfast items and it was $36 so for this price you would expect proper training and quality control. I let the staff know that the water jar was empty and 10 minutes later they still hadn't filled it up so I didn't have any water."

"Food was ok, house blend coffee tasted flavored which isn’t my preference. Tables were dirty at noon on a Saturday, but the backyard is a nice place to sit. Two things I didn’t understand - prices weren’t posted on the menu, and I was told they didn’t have forks. Paid $10 for a piece of bread and side salad I had to eat with my fingers. Overall, absentee owner vibes with teenagers behind the counter."

"We visited this Cute Cafe last weekend. I have never had a better Avocado toast in my life!! (and I love Avocados) The avocado was so fresh.. no blackening and amazing bread, too. I also ordered a blended coffee drink( Mocha Glaciar?), which was yumm!! I found the place very friendly. The person behind the counter took the orders with a big smile :) It makes a difference! It will be on my list when I visit douglas again!!"

"I visited Respite for the first time a couple of weeks ago due to the great reviews and appealing food based off of the photos on Google. I ordered the avocado toast with eggs — an up charge. The avocado was very hard, barely edible, and the eggs were both raw and not on the toast. Then, I went back to show the waitress my food and ask if there was any way I could get a new meal. They said it wasn’t their fault (whose fault is it?) because their avocado was in low stock and their microwave couldn’t properly cook the eggs, thus, there was nothing they can do. Finally, they told me they could make two new eggs, I took it, but they gave it to me in a paper cup and by that time I had lost my appetite to eat it. I would return for the coffee as that was good, but the service was very poor, the workers were rude, and the $15 price tag was not worth it."
