Reviews of Spice & Fire Grill مطعم بهار و نار
"I found the restaurant after it was featured in the local Chicago News. I have not had Iraqi food in Chicago before and the hostess was so patient in taking her time to make sure we were comfortable and excited about what we ordered. The customer service was GREAT and the menu is VERY modestly priced. People often say, “you won’t eat Italian food in America after you go to Italy.” Well, I recently took a vacation to Istanbul, Turkey and I have not enjoyed the kind of quality food I found while in the Middle East until now. Spice & Fire Grill rises to the occasion. The cuisine tastes like it is sourced only with fresh ingredients and professionally cooked and prepared by people who know the exact tradition and craft required for the dish. 10/10 across the board. Bravo!"
"Thanks to a recommendation by @bored_in_chicago, I recently had the pleasure of dining at Spice and Fire Grill. Every aspect of the experience was delightful. Started off the meal with lentil soup - between the flavorful spice and lentils, this was a fantastic way to begin. Oh, don't forget to squirt a little lemon on there. Then moved onto an order or Kuba - They were soft, yet crispy, on the outside and contained a savory blend of spices and minced meat. For the main dishes, we ordered the lamb platter and the Spice and Fire Kabob plate. Along with the platters we received additional soups (a white bean soup and an okra in tomato base soup), rice, onions and parsley, slices of tomatoes, all over laffa (pita). The lamb was tender and fell off the bone. The spices were fantastic and complimented the rice. To finish off our adventure, we ordered the Znoud El Sit for dessert - crispy rolls of phyllo dough stuffed with a cheese. DELICIOUS! The staff is friendly and willing to share insights about the dishes. Highly recommend trying this place out -- I cant wait to come back for the weekday lunch specials!"
"Food: We tried lamb quzi, chicken + beef shawarma with yellow and biryani rice. Everything tasted decent, I was expecting the lamb to be more juicy and rice to be more flavorful but it overall it was alright. Chicken + beef shawarma tasted good but meat felt a bit dry as if it was cooked a while ago. Service: servers are super nice folks Atmosphere: it’s very nice and relaxing. Gives you a traditional Iraqi vibe. They also serve free black tea and lentil soup!! Overall its a good place."
"My partner and I visited this eatery for the first time over the weekend. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was fine. The clay artwork on the wall was cool. The food was good; we got the Escalope Platter, Baba Ghanoush. The presentation of the food was good. The inclusion of soup as an appetizer was particularly nice. We also got the white bean soup, which was okay. You could tell that it was healthy, but it would have been nice if it had a little extra flavor. Otherwise, we had a good experience. The orange-carrot juice was good, but the complimentary tea was better! If we go again, I’ll get the tea, instead. ☕️"
"Had an amazing experience here. We ordered the beef shawarma and the half chicken platter. The staff was extremely courteous and friendly. They started us with a tasty lentil soup followed by our main course. Highly recommend."
