Reviews of Allergy and Asthma Specialists of Michigan
"I have been seeing Dr. Angela Iacobelli for four years and she was the only Dr. that did all she could to find out what was causing all my breathing problems after many stays in the hospital. In four years I have not had one breathing issue. Everyone in her office always make me the most important. I thank all of you and Dr. A. You are the best. ❤️"
"Id like to start off by saying that Dr. Iacobelli is amazing. She’s motivated caring, and truly cares about her patients. I was a patient of Dr. Iacobelli’s in high-school and decided to return to her as a young adult for asthma treatment. I feel horrible having to leave this bad review about her practice but I feel that other patients need to be warned about what to expect in their treatment here. I am going to be very blunt, the nurse practitioner that works underneath her is HORRIBLE. I came to this practice to be seen by Dr. Iacobelli and always ended up having to deal with the nurse practitioner, which I would have no issue with if she was professional and caring but she’s quite the opposite. I am honestly surprised that she still works there considering Dr. Iacobelli is such a nice and caring doctor. On multiple different visits I have watched this nurse practitioner roll her eyes and give me the side eye in response to me simply explaining things. At one visit I explained to her how I sometimes use a straw necklace if I’m having breathing issues (the straw necklace is literally designed to ease/regulate breathing), and she reacted like I said the most bizarre thing to her ever; she raised her eyebrow and looked to the side and just went quiet, creating the weirdest most awkward silence. I felt so embarrassed and awkward that I literally said “what is there something weird about that” she said “uh yeah kinda”. Like what? You can not tell me that that is a proper and professional way for a healthcare provider to act. Im an ophthalmic technician and I work alongside doctors so I am very familiar with patient care and how that’s supposed to look. Its quite obvious the staff doesn’t appreciate her either. At one visit the technician was calibrating the spirometry machine and then the nurse practitioner came in scolding her about how she was calibrating the machine. After the nurse practitioner walked out the technician literally rolled her eyes to me as if this is something very typical that happens with her. Neither of those situations are what lead me to discontinue my care with her though. The last straw for me was when I came in for my most recent appointment and the nurse practitioner came in being extremely accusatory of me and how I’m managing my asthma at home. Mind you, I only come in for follow ups because they tell me to, not because I’m begging for better treatment; I never complain I just come in to get my meds filled. This last visit truly felt like a personal attack, she accused me of not using my asthma meds as prescribed and of being non compliant with their directions. This is not the case. Even if I was being non compliant that does not warrant a doctor to be aggressive and sarcastic. There is definitely a way to go about that with a patient so that the patient does not feel under attack like I did, I know this because it’s literally part of what I do for my job. She was being sarcastic the whole time, asking me rhetorical questions, rolling her eyes at me, slamming her clip board down when she didn’t like my responses. I honestly have never experienced anything like that. I can say with full confidence that if I only saw Dr. Iacobelli, I would still be a patient and not writing this review."
"Dr. Iacobelli is an excellent allergist. She takes time to listen to her patients. For me, she was the only doctor that solved my allergy and asthma issues. She changed my medications and started allergy shots. I am 100% better than I was at my first visit. My allergies are under control and I no longer need antihistamines every day all year long. The staff is friendly and helpful too. I highly recommend this office and Dr. Iacobelli."
"I started my shots at another office and moved a couple miles away and decided to change allergy offices to one closer to my new home. I'm so glad I did! While the doctor is very nice and knowledgeable, in my experience it's the nurses that truly matter because they are the ones you will be seeing once a week during those shots. I felt like an annoyance at another practice. Here they are all kind and understanding. Everyone at the office down to the receptionist you will easily find with a smile and I can tell they all care about us patients and enjoy their jobs. It's a friendly atmosphere here (at least from my perspective) which was important to me and felt the world should know in case anyone feels miserable getting their immunotherapy done at another local office. You matter. And you will matter here! And no I was not asked in any way to make this review!"
"Dr. Iacobelli is the best! She is very personal and dedicated to her patients. I have been with her for 15+ years, and continue to see her even after moving to the west side. She is always learning and staying current with new studies. I highly recommend her."
