"The menu looked inviting with many options. Upon ordering & eating a poke bowl with ahi tuna today, I was disappointed with the taste. I ordered the 16 oz portion with black rice also offered with avocado, onion and seasoned with miso and soy and sesame seeds. Service was prompt, and ingredients all looked appetizing and fresh. They gave me a generous portion of the tuna, which I appreciated; but found the extreme saltiness off-putting. It was also difficult to find the rice under the fish. If I go back for another try, I will order a different protein and will hopefully find it more enjoyable."
"I am a loyal customer of several years now and Pinktail remains one of my favorite places to eat on this side of the state. The quality of the ingredients genuinely isn’t matched anywhere else in town, from the protein to the sauces and toppings. I always get the Yuzu Salmon bowl (pictured), and the salmon tastes as fresh as if it were caught this morning. Not only can you not beat the quality or portion size at this price, the customer service is fantastic. Whether you’re a regular or a first timer, you can expect to be greeted at the counter like an old friend and expeditiously served a fresh, colorful, and delicious meal. I simply can’t recommend this place more highly, it is by far the best Poke in town."
"I've had a lot of poke and this was the worst I've ever had. It's about double that price that I normally pay and you hardly get any fish. It's seriously not worth it. I almost feel scammed. My bowl had a bunch of brown avocado and way too much seasoning. There was so much soy sauce that it was basically inedible. It was incredibly salty and I couldn't even taste anything else. I had to throw it away. Really disappointed but I can't say I had high hopes for poke in Michigan."
"I was disappointed with the rice, it was either cooked with not enough water or was too old. Tuna I had was good and tender which was good. The take-out container was tall and slender so I had to dig through a lot of the toppings before I could get into the rice which I wasn't a fan of. I would have preferred a wider container so I can get some rice with each bite, but again when I got to the rice, I was disappointed. I ate my tuna and most of my toppings, but didn't want to finish it."
"Portions are good, fair price, and the staff I very quick. However, the flavors just weren’t there. Very bland sushi rice, it did not taste like it had been seasoned like a true sushi rice. I had the traditional ahi bowl which came with the standard sauce, which tasted of just soy sauce and made the entire bowl taste like I was drinking pure salt. I usually love my food on the salty side, but this was just too far with no accompanying flavors able to come through."
