"Twice now I have tried to get my suicidal daughter signed up for DBT therapy and both times this company tells me that they tried to call me to get her in a group which is a lie. I wish some other company offered DBT."
"Your experience depends on what provider you get. Some are good. Some aren’t."
"Yo this place is curing my depression also if you’re reading this hi Kevin. My only complaint is that this place does not have enough Nicholas cage faces. 5/7; a perfect score!"
"Zero follow up or aftercare."
"DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY GOING TO MHS! MHS is horrible. It is the most inadequate excuse for a "mental health provider" that I have ever experienced or heard of. The group "education" hour involves a facilitator literally reading, word for word, a couple of pages from the book. The facilitator I had, Trisha Osheim, did not expand on anything the book said she read the book verbatim and occasionally wrote a few bullet points, directly from the book, on a whiteboard in the room. You're typically instructed to read the pages for the next group ahead of time, which results in a mind-numbingly boring, waste of an hour for any literate individual. (You might as well just buy his book or get it from intake and not waste your time in the group. It will be a much more effective use of your time and money.) Furthermore, everyday the group would get off-topic and start discussing random things for a majority of the "education" hour and Trisha never ONCE redirected the group back to the topic so this went on for indefinite periods of time everyday. If you're looking for a group of people to socialize with, this might be the right fit for you. (It should also be noted that you spend a significant amount of time almost everyday playing games for children such as Apples to Apples and 5 Seconds. Which is a ridiculous waste of time and substitute for any actual learning or therapeutic services.). However, if your goal is to actually learn anything or improve yourself, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT MHS. Trisha Osheim lead the group I was in, she is grossly under-qualified and uneducated. She is cold, rude and uncompassionate; it is baffling how she is employed in the mental health field, unless everyone at MHS is held to as low of a standard as she is. Aside from the intake, you don't have contact with anyone at MHS besides your group facilitator. So there is a chance that if you have another, more legitimate, qualified facilitator it may be a more beneficial experience. However once you're assigned to a group they have a ridiculous policy and will not let you switch into another group (even if your facilitator has the IQ of a 7 year-old) so make sure to let them know in your intake that you do not want to be in her group. MHS is clearly a for-profit, vanity project for owner Dr. Lane Pederson. Clients receive a binder with a copy of his "expanded" DBT book which is simply a redundant and unnecessary copy of Marsha's DBT manual. There are absolutely no significant or improved changes, the book serves as a plagerized source of income for Dr. Pederson so he can charge patients for it and inflate his ego."
