"Dr Melonakos saved our sons life, I had gone to so many doctors/hospitals and no one would listen to our concerns about our little boy. We are first time parents so with that we got from every doctor “He’s fine and healthy, his lungs sound great, he looks healthy, he’s advanced, the only thing he has is first time parent who are over worried and we call that excessive worry syndrome” but Dr. Melonakos listened to every concern we had! She took the time to help us figure out what in the heck was going on with our son and so we began the step by step process to figure out what was going on with our son. We seen her weekly for weight checks but it came down to us spending a lot of time at Helen Devos Children’s Hospital because there was a huge concern that we could not get to the bottom of. She told me time and time again that I was not crazy & making things up in my head or an over excessive worried first time mom. My son would not be celebrating his now 6 month because at 3 months old my sons weight dropped down to his birth weight 5lbs in one week. He was a failure to thrive infant. Moms/Dads I urge you to advocate for your child! If you have concerns and a doctor brushes those concerns off as if they are nothing or can’t sit and listen to your concerns find a new doctor! And I recommend Dr Melonakos and can not thank her enough for listening and understanding my concerns plus she’s great and very patient to both you and your child!!"
