"My son graduated from HC and went on to a beautiful career. Highly recommended. Plenty of thumbs up"
"I never felt welcomed, Communication was totally off, my questions and concerns were not answered nor resolved, I felt like some people were being mean to my special needs child, I never got good answers to concerns about his well being, I only felt accepted by one person and that was Mrs. Chris. I counted the days to leave in my second year, but first year was semi okay."
"My granddaughter goes there n she enjoys going there. Everyone is friendly n teachers are excellent."
"I graduated from here in 2011. Although I am not from an "affluent" family by any means (a child of a hard-working lower-middle-class immigrant family, actually), I still found this school and its staff to be very accomodating and supportive. The teachers and faculty are true professionals, committed to and passionate about their jobs. I really felt that as long as I put in the prescribed amount of time and effort, I would succeed - and I did. It is one of the best schools in the state, and this could be felt through the heightened expectations of their students. And while this school could definitely get much better (such as by decreasing their excessive funding of the athletic program and diverting some of that funding to further improve academics), it's already much better than average. I'm proud to be a Red Devil."
"Everything is slanted to help the more priveleged succeed. I come from a relatively poor family, and have had to work my way up to get good grades in school and enroll in higher level courses. However, some children with rather affluent parents have gotten preferential treatment, and I don't believe that is fair. I've tried to bring up this issue with the school board, but the board mostly consists of these more affluent parents. I'm concerned that they aren't focused on the other students' well-being and academic performance as well as their freedoms, as recently there was a controversy over showing R-rated films in class (specifically ones hinting at gay content). This is ridiculous and prejudiced, and I am appalled that in such a progressive area in the 21st century, these types of things can occur. There need to be some major reforms here, and definitely more diversity."
