"The billing department at this office dropped the ball and needs better organization. I understand that mistakes happen but they need better organization with verifying insurance during the onboarding process. I started seeing a therapist at this office back in August 2023 (she was a good fit and I enjoyed the sessions and found it helpful). After 3 weeks of appointments and getting invoices from their billing department with no copay , there is all of sudden an issue with my insurance and they say they don't accept it and just dropped me like I wasn't good enough for their office. Why wasn't this realized during the onboarding process when I was asked for my ins card for verification purposes and sent it in immediately? I also made sure my insurance was listed on their therapist page on psychology today before reaching out. Not everyone is a resilient as me and dropping someone after a mistake on your end is unprofessional and grounds for a a lawsuit (I am not blaming my therapist but I blaming the billing department ). Some people may be suicidal and this could have been the last straw."
