"I have called four times and left messages with their secretary twice and once on Jeff's voice mail and NO ONE has gotten back to me. NO ONE and It's been over two weeks (15 days). I wanted to book one of their classroom spaces to host an acting class on January 16 but being ignored for this long has put a nasty taste in my mouth. I find it extremely disrespectful and disheartening that an establishment that gatekeeps a lot of Kalamazoo's events and does so much for the community has such bad service. I am left wondering...am I not of value to you? Do I need to be attached to some name to be seen? Where's your office's accountability? Who really matters if it's not the artist and little people of this city? Make this right. Do better."
"Have you lost your minds?? Arts Council is supporting an event called 'Queer the Block' with a drag show by the 'Kunty Kittens'! Sorry folks but there is so much wrong with that."
"Confusion, links that do not work, superfluous data abound. Not just this year, but a continuing tradition."
"Kalamazoo is a great place for artists to live and work with the fantastic and unique support from the Arts Council of Great Kalamazoo! Opportunities abound for exhibiting through their Art Hop program, and several grants are offered each year. These kinds of opportunities are rare! I have been a recipient of many of the benefits available and whole heartedly appreciate all that the Arts Council has done to support and promote the arts community-wide and individually."
"A really fun event at the Park Trades Center in downtown Kalamazoo. The Center has SO much to offer! You can buy drinks, sometimes food, purchase art, vases, pots, all sort of hand created things. There is glass blowing classes, pottery classes I believe, and belly dancing classes! I love Art Hop so much and it brings a really big group of different people together into one creative space. Expect to spend at least a couple hours here! Kalamazoo candles also sold inside."
