Hummingbird

"We loved our stay at Hummingbird. Perfect for 2 people. Bijou, neat and tidy. Very clean. Good quality furnishings. Great location, a 10 minute walk to the centre of town. Just a few minutes drive. Pretty and quiet street in the evenings. Great wildlife, Blue Jay's, woodpeckers, chipmunks and black and grey squirrels. Ample parking. Super convenient to explore the area but so many things only a few minutes away, the town, the beach, the countryside. Perfect location. We had travelled from the UK and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the house and the area is just beautiful. We hope to return one day. Lacked a few bits for an extended stay. No hanging room in the bedroom for clothing. And not much storage at all. Need to make more of the fact that the rest room is downstairs, bedroom & lounge is upstairs. Especially for older guests. But all internal fixtures and fittings good quality. A staircase hand rail is definitely needed. Nothing to hold on to coming down the stairs. And a few more fun signs about the lower ceilings too would be appreciated and we're only 5'7". We occasionally bumped our heads on the bedroom ceiling and at the top of the stairs. We would have liked to make more of the cooking facilities as food in town is quite expensive but the rules don't allow for larder items to be left behind. So it stopped us cooking as we couldn't travel from the UK and bring basic provisions with us. I'm just referring to even salt, pepper, sugar, tea, coffee etc. Nothing is there to use. And everything to buy is in large quantities. There is also no local place to even buy milk in town. The nearest are several gas stations with mini-marts, a short drive away, making it more expensive for basic provisions. A small welcome basket of goodies would have been nice to use when arriving late. Despite these minor negatives we had a fabulous time in Saugatuck."

"No response from renter!!! We had to cancel unexpectedly because our pet became ill. However, we provided more than 24 hours notice. It has been over 72 hours and 2 voicemail and 3 email messages and we have not received any contact. Quaint Cottages indicates they will respond within 24 hours."

"Stay was nice . Love the area. Couple things not so great were cold shower on second night. Also they have an extensive list of things to do upon departure. Strip beds, take out garbage, wash dishes which is completely fine but why are we paying $50 cleaning service if we are doing the cleaning."

"Our stay at the Swallows Cottage was great! Very relaxing. Nice quiet place. Plenty of room. It was also very close to downtown, so we could walk to whatever we we're trying to get to."
