Reviews of Leelanau Pines Campground
"Being from Ohio, Michigan was always a land bridge to Canada. As long as my father was alive, we would travel to Canada for walleye fishing each summer, the best fresh fish to catch in the world. Traveling through southern Michigan was much like Ohio, allot of people, concrete and cities. But once you get north of Flint, things rapidly began to change. As we would travel through the night and into the morning, the concrete would give way to the white pines and birch, coming to the highway to show us the way north. Recently my wife wanted to plan a camping trip to northern Michigan; Sleeping Bear, UP, and Mackinac Island. I had to cancel the UP portion of the trip so we had a couple of days to fill and I found Leelanau Pines on beautiful Lake Leelanau and I’m glad I did. We camped right on the lake and the check-in was seamless, even though we arrived a bit early. The people running Leelanau Pines were very helpful and the other campers were friendly, sites were large enough and allot of stuff for the kids to do. My daughter and I spent a day on the lake fishing for Walleye and I caught one, enough to treat my family to a fresh fish appetizer and my daughter caught her first fish, which I believe was a crappie that we returned to the lake. Thank you Lake Leelanau for providing memories for my family. Michigan is still a land bridge to Canada, but now it is also a destination, we will be back."
"Our family spent 5 days here. The experience was positive! High marks for good customer service on a variety of fronts. The campground was well maintained and very clean. Also, very pretty/picturesque. The location was outstanding for touring the Leelanau Peninsula. When we departed back to Kentucky, my thought was, "It's too bad we live so far away as we'd visit on a regular basis." Good campground!"
"We stayed mid September. It was pretty desolate, which I loved! We were able to get a prime spot, with little notice (maybe a month). Grounds were beautiful, playground well kept! My family had a blast!"
"The campground was a great value. In June, we had a full hook-up site for 4 nights and everything worked out very well. Clean bathrooms, nice boat launch, handy store and nice neighbors made our stay memorable!"
"The cabins were great for myself and 5 friends to spend a weekend away up North! A lot of space, plenty of room for sleeping accommodations, and the soap dispensers and bedside lamps were a nice touch! Campground is peaceful and people are friendly. Highly recommend!"
